00:00Policemen in Dubai may soon be wearing trendy looking glasses, and it's not because they
00:14want to look cool, but rather to be more efficient in their job.
00:18Dubai Police has been developing new applications to use Google Glass in their day-to-day work.
00:23Currently we have done the application that will work on those glasses.
00:29So once it's going to be launched, it's going to be used for two things.
00:33One part is the police officer can take pictures of the traffic violation right away from the
00:40Google Glass and upload it to our system, and from there it's going to be issued a traffic
00:45ticket violation to the drivers.
00:48The other part is a kind of analytic tools which the camera itself can read the plate
00:55numbers automatically and check against any wanted cars.
01:00So the officers shouldn't check against his paperwork or checking against his database.
01:05You just look at those plate numbers, if there's any wanted car, it will alert him and it will
01:13send the report right away to our police stations.
01:16Another application is also being developed to allow motorists to report minor vehicular
01:21accidents.
01:22The service will be launched next month.
01:24So we're going to launch a lot of services that we're aiming to provide or to have a
01:29zero visit to our police stations.
01:32So we are pleased that there's going to be a new application, which is the people and
01:37the clients can send us the traffic violations, taking a snapshot of all the pictures of the
01:45And one of the other part is the reporting of any minor accident occurring in Dubai.
01:54So those kind of two services that are going to help a lot from both parties, the clients
02:01and Dubai Police.
02:02Dubai Police said it is continuing to take advantage of new technology to provide much
02:07better services.
