प्रयागराज, उत्तर प्रदेश: प्रयागराज में आयोजित महाकुंभ में माघ पूर्णिमा के स्नान के साथ ही एक महीने से चल रहा कल्पवास समाप्त हो जाएगा। महाकुंभ में 13 जनवरी को पौष पूर्णिमा के दिन से 10 लाख से ज्यादा कल्पवासियों ने संगम के किनारे कल्पवास शुरू किया था। 144 साल बाद पड़ने वाले इस पूर्ण महाकुंभ में कल्पवासी भी रिकॉर्ड संख्या में पहुंचे। कल्पवासी कुंभ के दौरान पूरे समय संगम के तट पर कुटिया बनाकर रहते हैं और नियम पूर्वक गंगा स्नान, ध्यान, जप व तप करते हैं। कुंभ में संगम की रेती पर कल्पवास की परंपरा सदियों से चली आ रही है और इसका वर्णन पुराणों में भी मिलता है।
