00:11Ajman police have opened fire to subdue an armed gang of men who blocked the road to
00:15try and steal a car in Ajman on Tuesday. The five African gang members were taken into
00:20custody despite resisting arrest, but only after the police were forced to use their
00:25weapons. The suspects, armed with knives, had appeared in front of the car and threatened
00:29the driver who was rescued by the officers.
00:32Dubai police are reaching out to the public to boost relations with the people they protect.
00:36Senior police officials have launched a one-year campaign to raise public awareness about the
00:41importance of cooperating with the police in reporting crimes in order to make Dubai
00:45the most secure city in the world.
00:48World power sought to ease tensions over Ukraine as the country's interim authorities grappled
00:53with the threat of separatism after the dramatic ouster of its pro-Moscow president. Russia
00:58softened its angry tone over the ouster of Viktor Yanukovych, while senior EU and US
