00:00What a week! Always rummaging on your behalf, we discovered and revealed Chris Brown will
00:11perform in Dubai next month, just days after Miss Katy Blue Haired Perry and the fabulous
00:15Usher. We've had a shopping experience with Bollywood beefcake Salman Khan, watched J-Lo
00:20prove celebs do have an appetite, made small talk with our mate Bob De Niro on the red
00:24carpet in Doha, and delivered news of Gwyneth Paltrow, Rod Stewart, Deep Purple, and last
00:30but not least, Brian Ferry. Ask your parents, who all jet into the UAE for one reason or
00:35another. This is your weekly wrap with Tabloid. If you thought actor Salman Khan was all about
00:41the cameras, then you've hit the proverbial nail on the head. Even when simply shopping
00:45in Dubai is iconic, it seems he's always prepped for those lenses. On Tuesday night, Bollywood's
00:50bad boy took his Dabang 2 crew for a spot of retail therapy, a break from shooting a
00:55song sequence for the cop drama sequel. Sources tell us that Khan chose Dubai to celebrate
01:01his on-screen birthday, so watch out for his character Chulbul Pandey cutting a cake at
01:06the vintage Shakespeare & Co in Jumeirah. So, Mr Chris has been known to be handy with
01:11his fists brown. Maydan is the spot and December 11th the date. It's looking like it'll be
01:17sans Rihanna, but watch this space. If anyone can find out whether the now-not-on-tour RiRi
01:22will jet in with the boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, friend, then you can rely on us. Brian Ferry's
01:29CBE nonetheless will perform at an awards night during this year's 9th Dubai International
01:33Film Festival. The former frontman of Roxy Music is sure to go down a storm with anyone
01:39who remembers, well, Roxy Music. Gwynny jets in with her best Hugo Boss face to promote
01:45a new line of fragrance and Rod Stewart takes on Abu Dhabi for a private show. Our bet
01:50is he'll come via Dubai to pick up a few of those multi-coloured Sapwa suit specials.
01:54Tailors, needles at the ready. Jenny from The Block would have done double-decker, J-Lo
01:59opted for Cavalli. J-Lo, J-Lo, J-Lo. One question. One question, one question. We made our peace
02:09with the lack of chat on the red carpet after the American singer, how do we put this, enjoyed
02:14her food with gusto from the moment she took her seat next to Boyf Kasper Smaan. Gotta
02:19love a great looking star who doesn't live on celery sticks. This is my first time here,
02:24it's my first time performing and I'm so excited, I'm so excited to meet the fans of Dubai and
02:29the people and it was a lovely day out here today. I hear that the weather here is good
02:34right now, so we got very lucky. Deep Purple are the first headline act for the Emirates
02:39Airline Dubai Jazz Festival. Yes, you heard correctly, Deep Purple the rock band. Can't
02:44wait to see what those guys can do with a saxophone. We're looking forward to it very
02:48much and that'll be our first show after Christmas so the band will be exploding with energy.
02:54And Robert De Niro rocked the Doha Tribeca Film Festival red carpet in support of the
02:58festival he personally transported across the Atlantic. International news was dominated
03:03by the American Music Awards where Bieber won and gave a shout out to his haters. One
03:08Direction's second album went to number one. Band member Niall Horan said the band were
03:13nervous. It's the third highest selling album of the year after Taylor Swift's Red and Mumford
03:17and Sons' Babel. Those lads really are proving there is only one direction and that is up.
03:24This week's cinema releases include two that are hotly tipped for Oscar success. Argo,
03:29Ben Affleck's tale of how a Hollywood plot saved Americans during the Iranian hostage
03:33crisis in the 1970s and Silver Linings Playbook, a dramedy starring Robert De Niro, Bradley
03:40Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. And that's your weekly wrap.
