00:00We don't want Hamas going back, and think of it as a big real estate site, and the United
00:07States is going to own it and will slowly, very slowly, we're in a rush to develop it.
00:13We're going to bring stability to the Middle East in a totally war-torn part of the Middle
00:19East.
00:20And part of the Middle East, but we're committed to owning it, taking it, and making sure that
00:26Hamas doesn't move back.
00:28Can you tell us about your conversation with Vladimir Putin?
00:31I don't want to do that, Nana.
00:32We're trying to end that war.
00:33It's a war that would have never happened if I were president.
00:34Everyone is going to assume you're talking to President Putin regularly.
00:40Are you?
00:41It makes sense, but I don't want to talk about it.
00:45If we are talking, I don't want to tell you about the conversations too early, but I do
00:49believe we're making progress.
00:50We want to stop the Ukraine-Russia war, and I want to stop it just because I hate to see
00:56all these young people being killed.
00:59The soldiers are being killed by the hundreds of thousands.
01:02Hello, everybody.
01:03Hello, sir.
01:04Hello.
01:05How are you?
01:06Nice to see you.
01:07Nice to see you.
01:08You good?
01:09You all set?
01:10Yeah.
01:11You know, we're flying over right now, we're flying over a thing called the Gulf of America,
01:16and I'm signing a proclamation, and perhaps you could define that.
01:21This is a proclamation declaring today, February 9th, 2025, as the first ever Gulf of America
01:28day.
01:29This follows the president's executive order issuing a name change from the Gulf of Mexico
01:34to the Gulf of America.
01:36And we're flying right over it right now.
01:39So we thought this would be appropriate.
01:42Even bigger than the Super Bowl, this is a big thing.
01:46And almost everybody now has assented to that.
01:49Attention on board.
01:50Ladies and gentlemen, if you could please direct your attention out the right side of
01:54the aircraft.
01:55Air Force One is currently in international waters.
01:58The first time in history flying over the recently renamed Gulf of America.
02:02Please enjoy the flight, and we are now about to head westbound to Super Bowl 59.
02:08Wow.
02:09He did that well.
02:10That's a good job.
02:11Isn't that nice?
02:12You know what about make America great again, right?
02:19That's what we care about.
02:20Okay, here we go.
02:33So this is a famous pen now, and we'll put it with something.
02:38I'll ask you to do whatever you think we should do with it, Mr. Secretary.
02:44Do you want to talk about, you know, Doug, Secretary of the Interior, and also working
02:48with Chris Wright on extracting vast amounts of oil and gas and making our country rich?
02:56Would you like to say something, Doug?
02:57Well, with the Gulf of America, this is a historic day.
03:01We want to thank President Trump.
03:02His executive order is what set this in motion.
03:06We signed a secretarial order from, as Secretary of Interior, directing the U.S. Geologic Survey,
03:12who is responsible for the database, which is the geographic names informational system.
03:19And so just prior to this signing, if you will, the button was pushed, it became official
03:25with this proclamation to call today Gulf of America Day, but now it's going out.
03:30As we're sitting here right now, our team is calling all the map providers.
03:35So Google Maps, Apple Maps, all the map people, that change will take effect this afternoon
03:41to Gulf of America.
03:43So again, fantastic.
03:45Thank you, President Trump, for setting this all in motion with your executive order.
03:48It's an exciting, exciting, fun day.
03:51And great to do this as we're flying over the Gulf of America.
03:55We thought it would be very appropriate.
03:57We thought it would be appropriate.
03:59Catherine, thank you very much for being here.
04:01It's a very important part of his life.
04:05Who knows what would have happened to him without you?
04:07It might not have been good.
04:09Here you go.
04:10Okay.
04:11Have you talked to Mexico about this?
04:17Actually interesting.
04:18I've never spoken to him about it.
04:20It was our call and I have not spoken to him about it.
04:24I've spoken to him about many other things, but I haven't really talked to him about this.
04:27They have never brought it up.
04:28I'm a little surprised at that, but they've never brought it up.
04:29Sir, can you tell us about your conversation with Vladimir Putin?
04:30I don't want to do that now.
04:31We're trying to end that war.
04:32It's a war that would have never happened if I were President.
04:33It would have never happened.
04:34But we're making progress, but I can't tell you.
04:35You spoke to a couple of court losses, Mr. President, and J.D. Vance said judges aren't
04:36allowed to control the executive power.
04:37What's your take on that?
04:38Well, we're going to see what happens.
04:39We have a long way to go.

09:14We're talking about fraud.
09:15We're talking about fraud.
09:16Who?
09:17I'm sorry?
09:18You were going to meet with first responders today, but you pardoned people who assaulted
09:23first responders.
09:24No, I pardoned people that were assaulted themselves.
09:27They were assaulted by our government.
09:29I pardoned J6 people who were assaulted by our government.
09:35That's who assaulted.
09:36And they were treated unfairly.
09:38There's never been a group of people in this country, outside of maybe one instance I can
09:43think of, but I won't get into it, that were treated more horribly than the people of J6.
09:50So, no, I didn't assault.
09:53They didn't assault.
09:54They were assaulted.
09:55And what I did was a great thing for humanity.
09:58They were treated very, very unfairly.
10:00There's never been an incident like that.
10:02Two more policy questions.
10:04On Putin again, you realize if you don't clarify that, everyone's going to assume you're talking
10:09to President Putin regularly.
10:12It makes sense, but I don't want to talk about it.
10:15And if we are talking, I don't want to tell you about the conversations too early.
10:19But I do believe we're making progress.
10:21We want to stop the Ukraine-Russia war.
10:24And I want to stop it just because I hate to see all these young people being killed.
10:29The soldiers are being killed by the hundreds of thousands.
10:37We're talking about such.
10:41Are you okay with having a foreign country having a controlling interest in a U.S. steel company?
10:46Well, let's look at this.
10:48When I came here, they were going to buy it.
10:50And Biden was going to approve it.
10:52All of a sudden, Biden didn't because he heard I wasn't going to.
10:55I don't want U.S. steel being owned by a foreign country.
10:59But a controlling interest is okay?
11:00They don't have a controlling.
11:03They have an investment.
11:04All they're going to have is an investment.
11:07I don't mind.
11:08I don't mind an investment in a company.
11:10But especially U.S. steel.
11:12U.S. steel, for 15 years, was the greatest company in the world.
11:16The greatest, number one company in the world.
11:18And I'm not going to let another country buy it.
11:21We had a great meeting on that.
11:23But they are allowed to invest in it.
11:25And that's different.
11:26Mr. President, on tariffs, sir, you talked about reciprocal tariffs coming in this week.
11:30Can you tell us a little bit more about that?
11:32And are you announcing a plan for it this week?
11:34Or will tariffs themselves kick in this week?
11:37I'll be announcing probably Tuesday or Wednesday at a news conference, reciprocal tariffs.
11:42And very simply, it's if they charge us, we charge them.
11:46That's all.
11:47When is it going to affect, sir?
11:48Almost immediately.
11:50But I'll be announcing the details of it.
11:52Highly detailed.
11:53And it will be great for everybody, including the other countries.
11:57But if they are charging us 130 percent and we're charging them nothing,
12:02it's not going to stay that way.
12:03This is on every country?
12:05Every country will be reciprocal this week.
12:07Mr. President, can you confirm that you're—
12:09It won't affect everybody because there are some where we have similar tariffs.
12:13But the ones that are taking advantage of the United States, we're going to have a—
12:17it's reciprocity, it's reciprocal.
12:19We're going to have a reciprocal.
12:21But we'll have a news conference Tuesday or Wednesday.
12:24And just on the steel question, just so I understand you correctly—
12:27We'll also be announcing steel tariffs on Monday.
12:29On this—tomorrow?
12:31Monday, yeah. Tomorrow.
12:33What countries will those go on?
12:34Everybody. Steel.
12:36Including Canada and Mexico?
12:37Yeah. Any steel coming into the United States is going to have a 25 percent tariff.
12:43What about aluminum, sir?
12:44Aluminum too.
12:4510 percent?
12:46No, 25 percent.
12:4825 or below?
12:49Above.
12:50Above.
12:51And on steel, sir, are you ruling out then, if on steel having a 51 percent stake or higher,
12:56they won't have a majority stake?
12:58Nobody can have a majority stake for U.S. steel.
13:00They can for other companies, but not for U.S. steel.
13:03I think you agree with that, Doug, right?
13:05U.S. steel was one of our great companies.
13:07And through a lot of stupidity and bad government and also bad management of the company,
13:12it lost that luster.
13:14But it's going to gain it back.
13:16And tariffs are going to help.
13:18Tariffs are going to make it very successful again.
13:20And I think it has good management now too.
13:22Yeah.
13:23May I ask one, please?
13:25Can you tell me—can you confirm that you'll be meeting with MBS and Sisi of Egypt soon?
13:31Will that be at the White House?
13:32Well, I'll be meeting with all of them—numerous times, by the way.
13:36But I'll be meeting with all of them.
13:38And, yeah, I think that it's a big mistake to allow people—the Palestinians or the
13:43people living in Gaza—to go back yet another time.
13:46And we don't want Hamas going back.
13:49And think of it as a big real estate site.
13:53And the United States is going to own it and will slowly, very slowly—we're in no rush
14:00to develop it.
14:01We're going to bring stability to the Middle East.
14:03A totally war-torn part of the Middle East.
14:07A part of the Middle East that has caused tremendous problem.
14:11Tremendous problem.
14:12The Gaza Strip.
14:13And we'll own it.
14:14It's totally demolished right now.
14:16It's a demolition site.
14:18It'll be reclaimed.
14:20It'll be leveled out, fixed up.
14:23There won't be anybody there.
14:25Hamas won't be there.
14:26They'll be building through other of the very rich countries in the Middle East.
14:31They'll be building some beautiful sites for the people, for the Palestinians to live in.
14:38They'll be living in harmony and peace probably for the first time in hundreds of years.
14:43And just to clarify, I know you don't want to tell us about your conversation with President
14:47Putin, but can you clarify whether you had that since you've been in office or whether
14:52it happened before you became president?
14:54I've had it.
14:55Let's just say I've had it.
14:57And I expect to have many more conversations.
15:00We have to get that war ended.
15:01It's going to end.
15:02And we have to get it ended.
15:04And we have to get it ended soon.
15:05Should have never happened.
15:06Would have never happened if I was president.
15:08Mr. President, a couple of years ago, your vice president suggested that if the Supreme
15:13Court rules in a way you don't like, just let them enforce it.
15:16Do you agree with that?
15:18Say the last part.
15:20Your vice president suggested that if the Supreme Court rules in a way that you don't
15:24like, they can just enforce it by themselves.
15:27Do you agree with that?
15:28I don't know even what you're talking about.
15:31Neither do you.
15:32Who are you with?
15:33HuffPost, sir.
15:34Who?
15:35HuffPost.
15:36I'm in London.
15:37I thought they died.
15:39Are they still around?
15:40I haven't read them in years.
15:41I thought they died.
15:42All right.
15:43Go ahead.
15:44Who else?
15:45On security clearances, you've been yanking a lot of them.
15:47Why does it make the country safer to take away the AG's security clearance?
15:50And is that a form of retribution?
15:52There's somebody, no.
15:54If there are people that we don't respect, if there are people that we thought that were
15:59breaking the law or came very close to it in previous years, we do it.
16:03And we've done it with some people.
16:06We've done it with Biden himself.
16:09Biden himself.
16:11We think our country is not as safe if you gave him clearance.
16:15We don't think he knows what he's doing.
16:17And what he's done to this country is a disgrace.
16:19And what he's done in terms of allowing criminals, murderers, drug lords into our country, people
16:26from mental institutions into our country, he should be ashamed of himself.
16:30Is that a legally valid reason?
16:32On deportations, there's been some reporting that you've been upset that there haven't
16:36been more deportations.
16:37Can you clarify that?
16:38I think they're doing an incredible job.
16:40It's very tough.
16:41Deportations, finding murderers is not easy.
16:44Some of them are actually very smart.
16:47They shouldn't be in our country.
16:48They wouldn't have been.
16:49We had beautiful, you know, we just set records for closure.
16:53We have the strongest border we've had in many years, since my term.
16:58But even, maybe even for many, many years, decades before that.
17:03No, they're doing an amazing job.
17:08Tom Hovind is doing an amazing job.
17:10Kristi Noem is doing an amazing job.
17:13But it's not easy finding murderers.
17:15We know they're being looked for.
17:17But we're sending out thousands of people.
17:20We're getting rid of thousands of criminals from our country.
17:24So, in a sense, do you expect to meet him in person any time?
17:28Putin.
17:29Do you anticipate meeting with him in person?
17:31I would imagine I would be meeting with Putin, yes, at the right time.
17:35I think at the right time, at the appropriate time.
17:38Mr. President, back on Gaza,
17:40the White House press secretary told us last week that you're committed to rebuilding Gaza.
17:47Steve Whitkoff said that process would take 10 to 15 years.
17:51Does your commitment to rebuilding Gaza extend beyond your time in office?
17:56I'm committed to buying and owning Gaza.
18:00As far as us rebuilding it,
18:02we may give it to other states in the Middle East to build sections of it.
18:07Other people may do it through our auspices.
18:10But we're committed to owning it, taking it,
18:13and making sure that Hamas doesn't move back.
18:16There's nothing to move back into.
18:18The place is a demolition site.
18:21It'll be – the remainder will be demolished.
18:26Everything's demolished.
18:27I mean, you can't live in those buildings right now.
18:29They're very unstable.
18:31But we'll make it into a very good site for future development by somebody.
18:36We'll let other countries develop parts of it.
18:39It'll be beautiful.
18:40People can come from all over the world and live there.
18:43But we're going to take care of the Palestinians.
18:45We're going to make sure they live beautifully and in harmony and in peace
18:49and that they're not murdered.
18:50This has been the most dangerous site anywhere in the world to live in.
18:54Hamas has been a disaster.
18:56And by the way, I have to tell you that I watched the hostages come back today,
19:02and they looked like Holocaust survivors.
19:06They were in horrible condition.
19:10They were emaciated.
19:12It looked like many years ago, the Holocaust survivors.
19:17And I don't know how much longer we can take that when I watch that.
19:22I know we have a deal where we're supposed to get –
19:24they dribble in and keep dribbling in.
19:27But they are in really bad shape.
19:29They have been treated brutally, horribly.
19:32Even the ones that came out earlier, they were in a little bit better shape,
19:35but mentally they were treated so badly.
19:38Who could take that?
19:41You know, at some point, we're going to lose our patience.
19:45When I see that scene that I saw today with people coming out of helicopters
19:50and airplanes that are emaciated,
19:53that look like they haven't had a meal in a month,
19:57there's no reason for that.
19:59And I don't know how much longer we can take it.
20:01Do you mean you want to recast the hostages?
20:03I don't know how long we can take it.
20:05When I watch people that were healthy people a reasonably short number of years ago,
20:12and you look at them today, they look like they've aged 25 years.
20:16They literally look like the old pictures of Holocaust survivors.
20:22It's the same thing.
20:23I mean, the same thing.
20:25And I don't know how long we're going to take that.
20:29Mr. President, have you gotten some advancement in your proposals
20:34for some of the Gulf or Arab nations to take some of the Palestinian people?
20:38And if not, what do you think the reason is for their hesitance?
20:42Is there some very honest reason that they've even told you privately
20:45or that you think why they're hesitant to take the Palestinian people?
20:49Why are they hesitant to take them?
20:51Because they never spoke to me.
20:54They spoke to other people.
20:55They didn't speak to me.
20:56When they speak to me, they're going to take them.
20:58Is it because they think that you would not allow them to return to Gaza?
21:02Is that part of it?
21:03They don't want to return to Gaza.
21:04If we could give them a home in a safer area,
21:08the only reason they're talking about returning to Gaza
21:11is they don't have an alternative.
21:13When they have an alternative, they don't want to return to Gaza.
21:16If they had a home that was safe, where you don't have Hamas threatening them,
21:21killing them, torturing them, they'd rather not return to Gaza.
21:25But right now, Gaza is the only alternative.
21:28As far as the other regions, the only reason they maybe don't act enthusiastic
21:33is they haven't talked to me.
21:34They talk to other people but not to me.
21:36When they talk to me, they'll be enthusiastic.
21:38On spending, you found some maybe questionable expenditures
21:42or Elon Musk has found them?
21:43Not so questionable.
21:45The whole country looks like it's a fraud.
21:48It's fraud, waste, abuse, but it's a tremendous fraud.
21:52And what Elon and his group of geniuses have found is unbelievable.
21:58It's unbelievable.
21:59And that's just in USAID.
22:02Soon we're going into education.
22:04You'll find the same thing but bigger.
22:07Soon we're going into the military,
22:09and you're going to find a lot of bad things happening there.
22:13You'll find it because our government has not functioned properly
22:17for many, many years, and we're going to make it function properly.
22:21We're even looking at treasuries.
22:23There could be a problem.
22:24You've been reading about that with treasuries.
22:26And that could be an interesting problem
22:28because it could be that a lot of those things don't count.
22:32In other words, that some of that stuff that we're finding is very fraudulent.
22:37Therefore, maybe we have less debt than we thought of.
22:40Think of that.
22:41So a lot of things are happening, but Elon is doing an excellent job.
22:45We started with 12 guys with high IQs,
22:48and now we have 100 guys with very high IQs.
22:51Do you think Congress has failed to do their oversight,
22:53or do you think your first administration, some of your cabinet agencies failed?
22:56I think everybody failed. I think everybody.
22:59Why does Elon's financial disclosure remain secret?
23:04Because nobody is looking at that.
23:06We're looking at all the corruption that's taken place.
23:09Elon's financial disclosure is largely the number of shares
23:13that he's got in very public companies,
23:15and that's not secret at all.
23:17If you read that, you'll see a lot.
23:19I mean, he talks about his whole thing.
23:20I read one where I really gave a very good history of him,
23:24but basically it's a number of shares times a certain stock price.
23:28So why is that not public?
23:30It is public.
23:31All you have to do is read it.
23:33On USAID, sir, what is the message to countries
23:37that depend on humanitarian aid distributed through USAID?
23:41What is your message to those countries, sir?
23:43The ones that have been, the few that have been legitimate
23:47in terms of getting legitimate money
23:49will probably put it through the State Department.
23:51It'll be handled by Marco Rubio, a highly respected man,
23:55Secretary of State.
23:57There's no reason for USAID, when you look at the politicians
24:01that have been in there sucking the blood out of it,
24:03when you look at all of the fake deals,
24:05I mean, look, all you have to do is get a list of all of the things
24:10you can see by the heading.
24:12It's fake, it's fraudulent, it's probably kickbacks
24:16where they send the money and then it gets kicked back
24:18to the person that sent it.
24:20So the ones that are good, and there are not many of them,
24:23but the ones that are good, and there are some,
24:25will probably have that be handled by Marco Rubio
24:28in the State Department.
24:30Do you think they'll take on some of the USAID workers?
24:34If they like it.
24:36Will it still be called USAID, Mr. President?
24:38I don't know that it's going to exist.
24:40Why would you need it?
24:42The State Department can take care of it.
24:44Do you think the amount of spending on foreign aid
24:46will decrease also?
24:48It should decrease, yeah.
24:50I hope it decreases.
24:52When we have $36 trillion in debt,
24:56and we're taking care of countries that are very rich
24:59and we're sending aid to countries, in some cases,
25:01that are rich, in some cases, that are not rich.
25:04But no, it should very much decrease.
25:07But it won't be the scams that you've seen.
25:11The NIH put out a memo on Friday night.
25:14It's going to cut $4 billion from the percentage
25:16that they pay to universities and public colleges
25:19in all those states, not foreign countries.
25:21$4 billion, is that okay to take off the top?
25:23Sure, it could be okay.
25:25You have to look at the universities.
25:28You could also say,
25:30why are we giving money to Harvard
25:32when it's got a $50 billion endowment?
25:34$50 billion.
25:36And yet they don't use that endowment
25:38to help their students.
25:40Is this for research, like biomedical research?
25:42That's right.
25:44We want to take care of research.
25:46We want to do a lot of things.
25:48But when you look at the USAID,
25:50and you look at all the things and all the scams that was,
25:52I don't have to go through it now,
25:54but I'll get you a little list,
25:56one after another, there were very few legitimate.
25:58It was the opposite.
26:00Usually you find something wrong,
26:02like one out of a hundred,
26:04but this is the opposite.
26:06Here, almost everything was wrong.
26:08You find very few that were good.
26:10But there was some that were good.
26:12That'll be handled by the State Department, I assume.
26:14That's not final yet,
26:16but I think the best would be Marco Rubio
26:18at the State Department.
26:20One or two more.
26:22Is the Pentagon spending too much
26:24on launch services to space?
26:26I think space
26:28is going to be a very important element.
26:30I'm the one that came up with
26:32Space Force. I'm very proud of it.
26:34Biden tried to get out of it
26:36and he was really rebuked by the military.
26:38I think space is going to be
26:40one of the most important things we do.
26:42It's going to be all about space,
26:44especially defense.
26:46So space is very important.
26:48Mr. President, would you accept
26:50Palestinian refugees into the United States
26:52since you're looking to other countries
26:54to accept them?
26:56I think it's a very far distance for them to travel.
26:58But I'd have to look at individual cases.
27:00But I do think that
27:02coming into the United States
27:04we've taken a lot of people,
27:06but coming into the United States
27:08it's a long way for them to travel.
27:10They're far away from their families and their friends
27:12and everything else.
27:14I think they'd be very happy staying in the general area
27:16in a place that was safe
27:18where they could be safe
27:20and lead a good life.
27:22They don't want to go back to Gaza.
27:24As I said, I've said it a lot,
27:26they only go back because they have no alternative.
27:28They don't want to go back to Gaza.
27:30So we'll see.
27:32We hope that we'll be helped by Egypt.
27:34We hope that we'll be helped by Jordan.
27:36We hope that we'll be helped by other countries.
27:38We hope that some of the
27:40like Saudi Arabia
27:42and others can spend some money on it.
27:44They have tremendous amounts of money.
27:46They'll spend some money on
27:48making people
27:50comfortable and safe.
27:52One question about the Super Bowl.
27:54You're going to the game.
27:56One of the big things that you've done so far in office
27:58is cracking down on DEI.
28:00I saw that the NFL Commissioner said
28:02I think this week that they're happy
28:04with their diversity program.
28:06What's your take on that?
28:08Would you like to see any changes there?
28:10I don't know what the diversity program is.
28:12To be honest,
28:14I know Roger very well.
28:16He said he's happy with it.
28:18He was happy also with
28:20the flag and a lot of other things
28:22that didn't work out too well.
28:24We'll have to see what he was happy with.
28:26Right now,
28:28you know what the law is.
28:30The law is the law,
28:32and it changed, and it's been backed up by
28:34the U.S. Supreme Court.
28:36We'll see.
28:38There are a lot of interesting things going on right now.
28:40I'll tell you what.
28:42There's a light over the United States.
28:44People are
28:46happy.
28:48They're more confident.
28:50The approval ratings for
28:52this country have gone through the sky.
28:54More than at any time
28:56we've had approval ratings that
28:58there's never been anything like it.
29:00We've never seen 49 points up.
29:0249 points up.
29:04I think there's a light actually
29:06long beyond this country
29:08all over the world.
29:10I've been called by other leaders.
29:12There's a light over our country
29:14right now. There's a light over the world.
29:16We got rid of
29:18a horrible and totally inept
29:20administration.
29:22An administration where the President
29:24wouldn't even go and do a Super Bowl
29:26interview. For four years,
29:28he didn't do a Super Bowl interview.
29:30I did.
29:32You'll see it in about
29:34one or two hours.
29:36What is your analysis of the football game?
29:38Sir, on whether the referees have been
29:40giving the games to the Chiefs all season?
29:42I don't believe that.
29:44What is your analysis of the game?
29:46I think you're going to have a great game.
29:48It's two great teams. Who knows who's going to win?
29:50You have great players
29:52there. You have really superstars playing on both
29:54teams. I think it's going to be a great game.
29:56Why do you want to be chairman of the
29:58Kennedy Center Board?
30:00Because I want to make sure it runs properly.
30:02We don't need woke
30:04at the Kennedy Center.
30:06Some of the shows were terrible.
30:08Some of the races they were even put on.
30:10So I'll be there until such time as it
30:12gets to be running right.
30:14Have you seen any shows there?
30:16I didn't go. I got reports it was so bad
30:18I didn't want to go.
30:20There was nothing I wanted to see.
30:22Thank you very much.
30:24Don't miss out. Log on to
