00:00I'm not really sure if the powers of Grayskull can stretch all the way down to the Upside
00:04Down.
00:05Here's a look at the Mattel, Mass Universe, Stranger Things, He-Man, and Vecna.
00:27Welcome to the Upside Down Eternia.
00:28An overlap of Mass Universe and Netflix Stranger Things brings these unique figures to life.
00:33Each fully articulated 5.5-inch scale figure has elements from both franchises.
00:38This pack contains a strangely colored He-Man as he would appear in the Upside Down Eternia.
00:43But with a classic Motu harness, power sword, and axe, he carries a Hellfire Club-inspired
00:48demon shield.
00:49He faces off with Vecna, famous Stranger Things villain.
00:52Attached to an Eternian-style harness, he's outfitted with a Fireforge Grandfather Clock-inspired
00:57Staff of Time.
01:00It's a shame we didn't have Eddie.
01:01He didn't know much about Eternia, but he certainly knew a lot about the Hellfire Club.
01:05Let's take the tape measure and see how tall the He-Man, Mass Universe, Slash Stranger
01:08Things set stands.
01:10Both He-Man and Vecna.
01:11We're going to start things first with He-Man.
01:13He's essentially just using the regular Origins He-Man body.
01:15Of course, colored completely different.
01:17He-Man still is going to stand the same at 5.25 inches in height.
01:21Or roughly, though, about 13 centimeters tall.
01:24Then on to the big baddie of the upside down.
01:26Vecna is going to stand a little bit taller than He-Man.
01:28In fact, he's 5 3 quarters of an inch in height.
01:32Translating though to a figure that's 14 centimeters tall, I totally scored this set on the Facebook
01:36selling group.
01:37Originally, though, I was kind of eyeing them over on eBay, but the price was a little bit
01:40too high.
01:41The distance a little too far.
01:42Sure enough, I ended up finding a guy that was not that far away from me, and I scored
01:45the set for around $65.
01:47If you've already followed along this channel, you already know that I've already looked
01:49at the first set, consisting of both Skeletor and the Demogorgon.
01:53Skeletor and He-Man are, though, again, essentially using the same bodies as before, just coloring
01:57them a little bit more sicklier.
02:00He-Man certainly looks like he's seen better days.
02:02Vecna, though, and the Demogorgon, while they're having completely different head sculpts and
02:06some new tooled parts, there is, though, still pulling the body, it seems, from Beastman.
02:10He-Man doesn't just come in now cool colors, no.
02:12The figure does also now have a brand new shield at his disposal.
02:15The figure, first of all, does come included with his Hellfire shield, and while looking
02:18at the original one that we've gotten from before, I thought maybe it was just a case
02:21that they would have just molded this same shield again and just slapped on the demon
02:25face in front of it instead, but it does look like, if you're looking at the two, that they
02:29are completely different from one another.
02:32On the back of the shield, though, obviously, it's going to attach onto He-Man's arm the
02:34exact same way, but I do really like this color of gunmetal gray that they've used.
02:39If you like this color, you're going to also really love the battle axe and the power sword
02:43as well.
02:44Of course, this does attach onto He-Man's hands the exact same way, just basically just
02:49clip this around his grip and then just fit it around his forearm.
02:52That's all you really need to do.
02:54That's a cool-looking shield, though.
02:55I don't know if I'll end up displaying this, though, with this He-Man.
02:58Maybe I'll end up using it with another figure instead.
03:01While I do also have He-Man's full attention, the figure does also come included with a
03:04couple of remolded battle axes and power swords.
03:08They are also completely different color, obviously, you can see.
03:11Here's the first battle axe, again, but also colored in a more bluish gray as well, but
03:16again, we get treated to this really neat-looking dark gunmetal gray.
03:19I love that.
03:21Obviously, the battle axe can be held in his hand.
03:23You can also flip the figure around.
03:25He can also hold the battle axe on the back of his bandolier, but wait, the figure also
03:30comes included with this pretty cool-looking power sword.
03:32Cool seems to be the consistent word I'm using throughout this review.
03:35Here's the original power sword.
03:37Not one of the original power swords, but not the one that obviously sandwiches with
03:40Skeletor to make the full sword, but this is the regular standalone sword.
03:44As you can see, it's colored just a little bit differently, but the molds are exactly the same.
03:50Let's go take the sword, and again, if you look at the back of He-Man, if you're familiar
03:53with the body, you already know that the back of his armor does have this little looplet
03:57here.

04:00Simply just take the sword.
04:01You don't have to make the noise, though, while you're doing it, and that easily sheets
04:04the sword on the back of his body, or you can also as well take the battle axe, or we're
04:08going to call it power axe.
04:10Take the battle axe, that can also go on the back there as well, and seeing, of course,
04:13that he does have two gripping hands, so easily it is to take the power sword.
04:17I don't want to say so easily.
04:18I shouldn't speak so quickly about that.
04:20I have noticed, though, and I don't know why, his grip seems like it's not as tight
04:25of a grip as he would normally have had, which is really, again, strange to say that, because
04:29I would think that they'd be using the exact same hands.
04:32Just as that, as to be a proof of that, I'm going to bring in one of the original He-Mans
04:36here.
04:37I was never really liking the one that I have.
04:38I actually have a couple of these He-Mans.
04:39This one has little wonky looking eyes.
04:42Anyways, though, if we take the grip, though, for He-Man, the original figure that is, we
04:46take the power sword, it's not going anywhere, and yet, though, if you look at He-Man's hand
04:50now, from the one that gets packed along with Vecna, it seems almost as if his grip is a
04:54little bit looser.
04:56I don't really know why, because, again, if you're looking at it, you would think that
04:59the hands would have been exactly the same, and yet, clearly, clearly, they are using
05:03a wider grip.
05:05Taking, though, that idea, let's just take his hand off, take his shield off.
05:10Let's put the power sword in his other hand.
05:12It's a little bit better, but it's still not great.
05:14While, also, of course, we have ourselves He-Man, let's go ahead and remove his battle
05:18axe on the back of his body, slide everything, though, out of the way.
05:22Let's bring back in the original He-Man, well, one of the original Origins He-Mans.
05:27Body-wise, they're going to be exactly the same.
05:29It's just really more of a case that they've colored the plastic just a little bit different.
05:33It does kind of look like He-Man's got an air, like a brushed on spray tan.
05:38He's very pale, obviously, in complexion, like things like, for example, his orange
05:41on his gauntlets, and orange there on the front of his loincloth, I was drawing a blank
05:46there for a second.
05:47You can see now it's been done in all this cool metallic gold.
05:50I think the gold and also the coloring now that he has for his bandolier really heightens
05:54this guy to almost feel like he's a commemorative He-Man.
05:57I mean, obviously, he's a little pale on complexion.
06:00His eyes are also now painted in whites, whereas the original He-Man, for example, you can
06:04only really would have painted the pupils and everything around it all in black.
06:08The white, though, does bring a little bit more character to him, although it doesn't
06:10make him any bit more lifelike because, obviously, he looks so super pale.
06:15I do like the airbrushing that they've done to his torso.
06:17That works really well here also for his arms and down below here on his legs.
06:21As were before, the case was he would have had like a more lighter, browner boot, and
06:26the fur trim on the top would have now been in yellow.
06:28The one that we're getting here for this release, the top of the fur is now done here in beige.
06:33The colors look good.
06:34I mean, obviously, you're not probably going to have this as your go-to He-Man on the shelf
06:37because he's going to be a little bit pale.
06:39He's going to look a little malnourished, but I think the color for He-Man, this would
06:43really work well for my shelf space.
06:45If I was to take He-Man standalone and Skeletor standalone that was packed along with the
06:49Demogorgon, I'd like to kind of have these guys, I think, displayed on the shelf standalone
06:53on their own, where I feel like they really do have kind of a more heightened premium
06:58paint job to them.
07:00The details, though, I mean, certainly when it comes to He-Man, I don't think they've
07:02at all changed the head sculpt.
07:04It's exactly the same from before.
07:06Lighter color, they're also here for the blonde hair, so it's not as bright of a yellow as
07:10the original He-Man would have had, but all the articulation on the figure is exactly
07:13the same.
07:14So this version of He-Man, his head does rotate all the way around.
07:16Of course, you can have him looking down, looking up, looking up, back and forth as
07:20well.
07:21Arms easily rotate.
07:22I shouldn't say so easily.
07:23They do get a little squeaky, squeaky, squeaky, squeaky.
07:26The arms hinge out at a T-pose, 90 degrees.
07:28The figure does have, of course, this swivel there in the bicep.
07:30Well, swivel, I should say, for his forearm.
07:32That's just below his bicep.
07:34Squeaky, squeaky, squeaky.
07:35Single hinge, though, on the elbow.
07:36Again, I just still don't know why his hands are a little bit bigger of a grip.
07:40It's not like he has to hold a larger accessory.
07:42Anyways, though, the hands do rotate all the way around.
07:45The figure's, yes, waist swivel back and forth, legs split out.
07:48They go forward, they go back.
07:50There's a little bit of a swivel there, single hinge on the knee, of course.
07:53Rotation lower leg, rotation in the boots, rotation in the boots.
07:56Ankle pivot back and forth, ankle rocker.
07:58You basically all know the format by now.
08:00They're just rhyming down all the things the figure does pack.
08:03Does still pack, though, pickles on the bottoms of the figure's feet.
08:06I don't notice, though, as much for He-Man.
08:08I notice it certainly a lot more when we look at Vecna.
08:10I don't know what it is about the plastic, but the plastic seems like it's a little gummier.
08:14I mean, if we were to look at He-Man's legs, for example.
08:18I mean, even though my He-Man's legs have obviously developed a little bit looseness
08:22over time, but it does seem like, though, there's not as much resistance when you want
08:26to bend the knees and when you just want to turn the legs around.
08:29I don't know what it is about the plastic, though, for this version of He-Man, but it
08:32almost seems like it's a little bit more stretchier.
08:36Does that make any sense?
08:37It doesn't make any sense when that left my mouth either.
08:39Anyways, though, that's He-Man.
08:41Nice looking figure, though.
08:42Again, like, I probably will not end up displaying this guy along with the rest of my Eternian
08:46characters, but certainly, though, as a premium He-Man, I think he kind of looks a little
08:50bit like a commemorative He-Man.
08:52Something like if you were to mail away for, like, this He-Man would have come specifically
08:55with, like, the cooler looking gold, not gold, but, like, the gunmetal gray colored
09:00accessories.
09:01I just feel like this is a cool looking He-Man, even though he's a little paler in complexion.
09:04If I can get this guy to stand.
09:07On to, though, now Vecna.
09:09Now Vecna comes, of course, included with his staff here.
09:12I really love the look of this staff.
09:14Now, one thing that was interesting about the He-Man in the Master Universe and the
09:17Stranger Things accessories is the fact that when the two packs came out, both the Demogorgon
09:23and now, of course, Vecna come included with very unique accessories that we've never seen
09:25before.
09:26Vecna's, though, was basically like a double-sided, I don't know, like a mace.
09:31Would that be a mace?
09:32A double-sided mace?
09:33I'm sure somebody could tell me down below in the comment section, but we, of course,
09:35got ourselves the D&D dice on the top and on the bottom.
09:38Vecna, though, now differently gets included this staff.
09:41Now the staff is a really neat looking design.
09:44I think what it is is it's supposed to be like, what is it, like the grandfather clock
09:48that we see, of course, in that season.
09:50I think they call it the staff of time.
09:52I certainly would look at that and recognize right away that, obviously, there's a grandfather
09:55clock on the top and it would have something, something to do with time.
10:01Almost kind of looks like something you would see from Amityville.
10:02Remember the Amityville It's About Time?
10:04It's definitely one of the better ones of the Cursed trilogy.
10:07Anyways, though, you can basically, obviously, obviously you can put that into his hands.
10:11Vecna holds the staff okay.
10:13I mean, obviously, you can also put this in his other hand as well, but this hand does
10:17have slightly longer fingers.
10:19But if you did want to, just to show you guys, you have to kind of pry the fingers
10:22a little bit more away from the plastic here.
10:24I see.
10:25I shouldn't have spoke so soon.
10:28I said I was going to do it.
10:29Let's at least, let's give it the college try.
10:31There we go.
10:32So you can see, like, he does hold the staff in both, both hands.
10:34It doesn't really matter which hand you want to have him doing it.
10:37Staff of time, though, looks pretty cool, though.
10:39Let's just take that and move it off to the side.
10:41Now, while I was doing this, you probably noticed that there was one thing that fell
10:44off on the back of the figure's body.
10:46He has these tentacles.
10:48The tentacles plug in for all intents and purposes on these back holes here.
10:52I find, honestly, though, the length of the peg isn't nearly long enough, because when
10:56you think you've put it in all the way, stop that.
11:00Just a little bit of bang, just a little bit of moving the figure around, I find these
11:02things fall off frequently because they are also, oh, there you go, because they're also
11:06plugged in place, they have a little bit of posability.
11:08Sorry, didn't mean to spit on all of you guys here.
11:12But basically, again, that just plugs in place.
11:14You can have the longer roots sticking up at the top, though, if you want, or again,
11:17you can just easily flip this around.
11:20Plug this on in this way.
11:21And actually, you know, when you have it flipped the other way, I find myself, at least, I'm
11:26less likely to kind of bang it.
11:28I don't know if it holds a little bit better.
11:29I mean, you would think that it would peg in the exact same way, but some would maybe
11:33prefer to have the tentacles, the longer length legs, a little bit more on the bottom of the
11:37figure than rather on the top.
11:39What I'm going to do, though, is I'm just going to attach these anyways.
11:42All this talk about these, I'm just going to only remove them anyways, just because
11:44I know when I'm moving the figure around, everything's going to eventually bump those
11:48and they're going to fall off anyways.
11:50So for Vecna, again, while we are getting ourselves treated a beastman body, so like
11:55when we looked at the original Demogorgon, for example, you can see like the hands are
11:59exactly the same, even like the longer fingers on this side are exactly the same.
12:03The only thing that's a little bit different, though, is if you look at the feet.
12:06The feet, though, for the Demogorgon was very unique at the time when we got for this figure.
12:10Yet though, the ones that we're getting here for Demogorgon, or for the Vecna here, actually
12:15seems to be using the exact same feet as Buzz-Off.
12:18So if you already have that figure, for example, you already would recognize these feet.
12:22The coloring looks really good for this guy, kind of looks like grape gum.
12:26The face sculpt also is painted well, too.
12:28You've got the red eyes there.
12:29Of course, you've got that outlined in black with a little bit of just detailing all around
12:33that as well.
12:35Now while he's also obviously using Beastman's body here, they've tooled brand new armor
12:40they've given obviously a brand new head sculpt.
12:42They've also given this neat looking, I would originally want to say that that's a crab,
12:46but I would imagine it's supposed to be a spider.
12:48This just actually attaches.
12:49So if you don't like the look of this, it's just a case you can remove it.
12:53There's a slot right here, slightly smaller rectangle than the one that's above it, and
12:58it just has two pegs on the back of the spider's body.
13:01Again, I don't think this thing's supposed to be living, it's supposed to be just part
13:03of his armor.
13:04But if you think that that's maybe just too much yellow, you can leave it off altogether
13:07if you want.
13:08Speaking of leaving things off, it seems to be the case if you detach the arms here from
13:12Vecna, you could probably slide these off, although it'd be a little harder to do.
13:16You may want to even heat these up first.
13:18I do actually like the way that they've added sort of like a rooted texturing, kind of looks
13:22like actually the roots of a tree all wrapped around his body.
13:26It's actually a little bit more of a softer plastic.
13:29Let's just plug his arms back in place here.
13:31I love that he's also got these teeth sticking out the tops of his shoulders.
13:34It's really neat looking armor though, and I really like the coloring of the character.
13:38Of course, he's got some gold down below here as well, very similar to what He-Man
13:41had.
13:42Some gold there also on his gauntlets.
13:43And down below again, while he doesn't have a whole lot of paint, the coloring of this
13:46purple that they used works really, really well with the character.
13:49Let's go ahead and plug the...
13:52Again would it be...
13:53It kind of again looks like a crab.
13:54Let's just take the spider emblem here.
13:55I want to make sure we've got it flipped the right way.
13:57Is it going the right way?
13:58No, no.
13:59I had it the right way the first time.
14:01Just again, attach that in place.
14:02There you go.
14:03For the figure's articulation though, for Demogorgon, I keep calling this guy Demogorgon.
14:07His Demogorgon is right over here.
14:08For Vecna though, when it comes to rotating his head, this is going to be where you're
14:11having a little bit more of a harder time.
14:14He's got these, see these little side areas there that kind of extensions out from the
14:18top of his face or like from the sides of his face.
14:20When it comes to rotating his head, this is where you're going to have a little bit more
14:23of a harder time.
14:24The head rotates, but it doesn't rotate well.
14:26The head can look up only by just a little bit.
14:29I know if you blinked it, you would have missed it.
14:31The head looks down certainly a lot better.
14:33Still he has the waist articulation, still he has the arm articulation, but it's going
14:36to be a little bit more limited just because he's got all this extra sculpting here on
14:40the top.
14:41Again, the arms can rotate all the way around.
14:43They're really, really tight though.
14:44So maybe what I'll just do is I'll leave it alone.
14:47He has the hinge, of course, still the same as He-Man.
14:49So he's got the hinge right there.
14:50You can rotate the arm back and forth.
14:51You can rotate the hand all the way around.
14:53Again, you've got your waist swivel, all the same for the top of his legs, moving forward
14:58again and back.
14:59Hinge on the knees, lower legs, lower feet, ankle articulation, ankle rocker as well.
15:05He also does seem to face the same issues I've noticed with He-Man, kind of just stubborn
15:09plastic.
15:10It doesn't feel necessarily like the body itself is more rubbery plastic.
15:13I mean, when you're feeling the plastic for this guy, and then you're feeling the plastic
15:17for like just a regular He-Man, it does feel like there's a little bit more, I don't want
15:21to say like a squishier kind of material.
15:23It clearly isn't the case, but if you kind of put your finger against it, it does feel
15:27like the plastic's a little bit different, a little varied from what we got from the
15:30original Origins figures.
15:31And maybe that may have something to do with why I feel like their legs, the knees especially,
15:36feel like there's a little bit more, again, resistance to them.
15:39In the end though, I'm happy, pleased as punch to finally get ourselves, pleased as punch,
15:42whoever says pleased as punch, pleased as punch to finally get myself the second set.
15:46I don't think we're going to be getting any more though of these Stranger Things Master
15:49Universe sets.
15:50I mean, the fact that we have ourselves one Demogorgon, or we have ourselves pairing with
15:54that Skeletor and He-Man, yeah, nice looking sets.
15:57I just don't, to have paid the price that what was going for on eBay, I think they were
16:02going at one point for like 80, $100, I wasn't going to pay that at all.
16:05But though the fact that I was able to find this set over on the Facebook group for as
16:09little as what I thought the cost of it, it was like $65.
16:12I can't beat $65 at all.
16:14I finally now have ourselves a He-Man, I have myself a He-Man and a Vecna.
16:17The Vecna looks really good.
16:18I don't know if I think it looks as good as the Demogorgon.
16:21I think the Demogorgon probably is the better of the two figures.
16:24And then of course, when you get yourself Skeletor and He-Man, even though they are
16:28using the exact same bodies, so again, we're just going to bring back in He-Mans here.
16:32Same body for He-Man, but it just goes to show though, that when they're using a different
16:36coloring of paint or the way, of course, they've passed the plastic, you get a very unique
16:40looking He-Man as a result.
16:42Again with the Skeletor and the He-Man, I'm probably not going to have these guys displayed
16:45with the rest of the Eternians, but at the very least though, one thing I really like
16:48about it is that He-Man has sort of, again, a premium feel to it, kind of like a mail
16:52away He-Man.
16:53And it's only available obviously in a set, so if you're, oh, there goes He-Man.
16:56If you're interested to get this version of He-Man, you may have to also venture off
17:00either trying to buy this guy loose, or you're obviously, if you're not a big fan of Stranger
17:04Things, you're just going to have to suck it up and buy the set specifically for the
17:07He-Man.
17:08I do really like this set, and one thing I do like is that this He-Man actually does
17:12have two gripping hands, whereas the original Origins one only had one relaxed hand to hold
17:16the shield and then one grip hand.
17:18Thing though that's interesting is while he does now have two grips instead of just one,
17:22the grips on his hands seem wider than before.
17:25Kind of less though that the shield is supposed to be on the other side of his body, and that
17:28would then justify why he has a harder time to hold the Battle Axe and the Power Sword.
17:32I don't really know why, but it does seem like he has struggling issues trying to hold
17:37both.
17:38Of course, there's still storage on the back of his body that doesn't change at all.
17:41What does change though on He-Man is a more paler complexion and all this airbrushed spray
17:46tan that he has on his body.
17:48Yet though, saying that, I still actually really like the look of this He-Man.
17:51He's not going to be displayed also with the rest of my Eternian figures.
17:54I did mention that in the review.
17:55He's going to be front and center on his own along with Skeletor.
17:58And then maybe what I'll do is display Vecna and the Demogorgon along with maybe some of
18:02the baddies, the rest of the figures that I have currently on my shelf.
18:05Vecna, one thing that really has going for him is the fact that he's...
18:08I like the coloring.
18:09Kind of this great gum color that they've given him.
18:11Of course, he does have this kind of crab spider thing that's on the front of his body.
18:15If you don't like all that yellow, you can easily so remove it.
18:17You can so also remove the tentacles that he has on the back of his body.
18:21Now what I ended up doing though, where we started this review where the longer tentacles
18:25were on the top of his body, that made him a little bit more top heavy.
18:28If you though flip it around because it's pegging in the same way on the back of his
18:31body, it seemed to kind of help balance the figure just a little bit better.
18:34He also has that staff of time accessory.
18:37So that's one really thing that I like that Mattel's done with the set.
18:40It's not just, let's just recolor some characters and throw them back in a set.
18:43Both Vecna and the Demogorgon have had unique accessories that belong only to them.
18:48And I really like the both.
18:49I like the look of both of them.
18:51In the end though, I'm glad I ended up finding this set for the price that I did.
18:54I still probably would have eyed getting this set on eBay for like the $80 to $100 that
18:58we originally was asking for.
19:00It seems though that the He-Man and the Vecna set are still selling a lot more than the
19:04Skeletor and Demogorgon set, which now you can actually get that box set of the two for
19:08probably like $30 to $40 easily.
19:11Vecna though and He-Man still seems to be a little higher in price, but I think if you
19:15can find it for a good price, it's well worth picking up.

19:22That might be probably the big decider as to whether you even get the set anyways.
19:25If you don't, you might not be that nudged in the direction of probably wanting to get
19:29this.
19:30But I would say even if you don't like Stranger Things, both the Demogorgon and Vecna are
19:33pretty cool looking figures just to be displayed with your regular Motu stuff.
