00:00I would like to tell you that I really liked the original song, but I liked this one the most.
00:06Thank you, thank you so much.
00:08And the reply version that came in the middle was very good.
00:13Thank you that you liked our version.
00:18We have made it with a lot of love.
00:21And there is a responsibility when you are recreating such a legendary and iconic song.
00:28It's a big thing that you liked it.
00:31First of all, I would like to know what made you take the risk of recreating such an iconic classic song?
00:58And I feel like the way Amal and Rashmi Virag have come together and curated this new version, which is Pela Nasha 2.0.
01:07The way they have arranged it, how the Mukhda and the Antara flows together so seamlessly.
01:14I think that pays homage to the original version while also being a really really nice and fresh take on the song.
01:21I feel that today's generation, everyone from the youth will really connect with this song.
01:27And it's something that can connect with people who loved this song before and also haven't heard this song at all.
01:35Many fans are protective about old classics. How do you respond to people who say classics should never be remade?
01:42I mean, to be honest, there are lots of songs that have some really really nice remakes.
01:48I have also been part of quite a few remakes that have actually gone on to do really well.
01:54Like Ghar Se Nikalte Hi, there's also Tumhe Apna Banane Ka Junoon from Hate Story.
02:00Then we did Pyaar Manga Hai Tumhi Se also.
02:04So while most of them have done well, yes, there are some that haven't really clicked with the audiences.
02:11And I completely hear when music purists and people who really love our golden era of music,
02:18when they feel that someone has taken an iconic song and spoiled it or they've made something bad out of it.
02:26But thankfully and fortunately in my case and with Amal's case,
02:31we have been very lucky that we've been able to create tracks in a way where the original is not tampered with.
02:39But we also add a little bit of our own DNA and our own spin to the song.
02:44And it connects with the audiences and makes them feel ki haan, this is our Pehla Nasha or this is our Ghar Se Nikalte Hi.
02:52But also it feels like a new song to them.
02:55Do you believe that band itself was innocent of making music?
03:00I truly believe so. The innocent factor was very prevalent in the 90s.
03:08And slowly over the years, I think the love songs that started coming out were very, you know, pretentious in a way.
03:17And also there were a lot of scenarios where they thought of fictional circumstances or didn't talk about love in a genuine, in an honest manner.
03:29And I feel ki 90s ke gaano mein that element was very, very prevalent.
03:34Which is why we have tried to retain that essence in Pehla Nasha 2.0.
03:39There's a certain, you know, first romance, first love flutter in your heart kind of feeling that's there in this version.
03:49And that's something that's missing in today's, you know, songs.
03:53And I feel like the love songs that I'm known for as well, you know, like Sab Tera, there's stuff like So Asman.
04:01And there are songs which we have put together, both Amal and I, over the years that carry that innocence.
04:08Because we feel like that's the kind of love that we believe in.
04:12And I think that's the kind of love that the 90s also believed in.
04:16So I'm glad that we got an opportunity to bring that innocence back and bring that purity of love back.
04:23The song is called Perfect Valentine. How would you define the perfect love song?
04:29The perfect love song is very hard to be defined.
04:32I mean, there are various factors. It depends on the situation.
04:37But Pehla Nasha, I also have a song called Pehla Pyar.
04:41First love is a very, very universal concept.
04:47And I believe that the song that we've put together, like you're saying that it's already, you feel like it's the soundtrack for Valentine's Day.
04:55And I truly believe so, too.
04:58Because the way that it's made, the way that the lyrics are written, I think it's quite shareable.
05:03Shareable in a way where I feel like a guy can definitely share, you know, lyrics from the song or words from the song with their, you know, significant other.
05:13Or dedicated to someone that they want to woo or take out on a date.
05:17So definitely the perfect song for the season.
05:20And I just hope that it's not just for the season, but it's also here for a long time to come.
05:26I hope that it makes a place in people's hearts and their playlists.
05:29Have you ever had a Pehla Nasha moment in real life? Any special memory?
05:34I mean, I have had a lot of such instances in my life because I'm a romantic myself.
05:42And obviously, I've had a Pehla Nasha moment with my wife, Ashna.
05:47When I, you know, the first time that we went out on a date back in 2017.
05:53I definitely felt that flutter in my heart that everyone feels when they're out with someone that they love and want to get to know better.
06:03So yeah, I definitely had that moment.
06:06Armaan, I would like to ask you about your recent concert with Ed Sheeran.
06:14And how was it to perform with a local icon?
06:19I've had a very deep friendship with Ed Sheeran since 2021.
06:26We collaborated on a song called Two Step.
06:30And after that, when he came to Bombay, I performed Two Step with him.
06:36And now recently, I opened the show for him in Hyderabad.
06:39So it's been a great experience.
06:41A, working with him.
06:42And B, just, you know, being around with him and being, you know, just hanging out with him.
06:49He is a very humble artist.
06:52He is one of the biggest superstars of the pop music industry.
06:59And to be able to be in the same room on the same stage with him is a big blessing for me.
07:04I consider that a big honor.
07:06And as an Indian artist, I feel, you know, really proud of the fact that I've been able to put out a song with an artist like Ed Sheeran and also share the stage with him.
07:18And I hope and, you know, wish that more such opportunities come my way.
07:23And yeah, I hope to collaborate more with Ed.
07:26I really love him.
07:41I am very active on social media.
07:43But as you said, you know, focus on the song, focus on the music is very important.
07:50And people are not doing that these days.
07:52And they are just thinking about what kind of video or reel should I put that can make me viral.
07:58And I think that is a very short-lived approach.
08:02The kind of career I want to chart out for myself, this approach will never work for that career.
08:10Let's do something viral.
08:13I have chosen the songs and projects in my career with a lot of thought.
08:19I have done it with a lot of thought.
08:21I have done such songs, such shows, such concerts at every step.
08:27Where I feel that my identity, my artistry will get a little bit more boosted.
08:32It will be boosted in a good way.
08:34But this was my first focus since childhood that I want to be a very good singer.
08:41I have to focus on my craft.
08:43If someone gives me a mic on stage or in the recording studio, I have to stand up for it.
08:50I have to give 100% and have to sing in such a way that the other person feels that there is no better singer than me.
08:58If you can't bring that feeling and you can't work on that talent, then I feel that is not a good approach to have.
09:07It is very very important for young singers to focus on the music and focus on the singing.
09:12And later all the virality, social media, trending, all that follows up.
09:18A romantic song that you wish you had sung first?
09:22A romantic song that I wish I had sung first?

09:43Tiger Shroff and Siddharth Malhotra.

10:04What is your go-to karaoke song for a date night?
10:28Go-to karaoke song for a date night would be Perfect by Ed Sheeran.
10:35If you had to propose to someone using just a song lyric, which one would it be?
10:43If I had to propose to someone? I have just got married, why would I propose to anyone?
10:48If you had to dedicate a song to Ashna, which one would it be?
11:01A love song you secretly dislike but everyone else loves.
11:05Secretly dislike?
11:08There is a song of mine that I am not too happy that I did that.
11:15Kehta Hai Pal Pal Tumse Ka, we did a recreation of that song.
11:20People really love that song, but I am not a fan of it.
11:23Bharatiya, you are really good at singing monography.
11:53Love has made the clouds go crazy.
