Captain Jason Hints at Firing Someone on Season 3 of 'Below Deck Down Under' to'Cut the Cancer' Off the Boat

00:00Based on the trailer and the teaser, it seems like somebody gets fired,

00:03somebody gets let go, and it seems like it's maybe one of the heads of departments.

00:08Can you confirm or deny that?

00:11Well, I do cut some cancer out, you know, no pun intended.

00:14I just had a melanoma cut out, but I do get on top of some things,

00:20whether there's a termination or not, you'll have to wait and see.

00:24But yeah, there was more friction between the heads of departments

00:28than there was between the juniors.

00:30And obviously, as a captain, I wouldn't think that would be the case.

00:35I would actually think I'd be worrying more about the juniors

00:38than the heads of department, who should actually be

00:41professional enough and experienced enough to be able to get through the hurdles that are there.

00:44Yeah, so it seems, I think you say in the trailer,

00:46that everybody was kind of consumed by this negativity.

00:48Do you feel like that really did happen this season?

00:51Totally, and that's totally against me as a captain.

00:53If you've seen me on season one and two, I'm all about positive and team,

00:58and run yourselves, you know, I'm not here to micromanage you, I'm here to help.

01:02And our end goal is to get to a point where we do grow and we do succeed

01:08and give the guests everything they want.

01:10And that is a simple task to follow, isn't it?

01:14And yeah, I probably put a lot more effort into

01:19emotional and empathy this season than I have in my last two.

01:24And how does that make you feel?

01:26Are you like, I just want to focus on the job at hand,

01:29I don't want to have to deal, I don't have to babysit pretty much.

01:32Totally, look, it's actually, I find it rewarding.

01:38Every season I've done, I've actually got something out of it.

01:40Okay.

01:41And I'm actually positive the crew will look back and get something out of it as well.

01:44What did you get out of this season?

01:46More patience.

01:47More patience.
