00:00Now, unfortunately, I've been doing this job rather too long,
00:02and I've never known a prime minister being forced
00:05to declare confidence in a chancellor
00:08so soon after he gave her the job.
00:11What did you do wrong?
00:13Well, I think I've outlived a number of my predecessors
00:15in this role.
00:17I think one of them survived for only 40 days.
00:20But look, Keir and me are a strong team working together.
00:23Would you accept you made the odd mistake?
00:25Well, look, I'm trying to turn around this economy.
00:27It's not an easy job.
00:29We've had 14 years of lacklustre economic performance.
00:32Working people are worse off after 14 years
00:36of conservative government, and public services are in a mess.
00:39We're in a hurry.
00:40We want to go further and faster to deliver that growth,
00:42to improve living standards, and invest in public services.
00:45And that's what Keir and me and the whole government
00:46are determined to do.
00:47Chancellor, very good to see you.
