00:00After President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. certified as Urgent,

00:04the Commission on Elections decided to prepare

00:07for the 6th of May in the Legislative Assembly

00:09to pass the BARM Parliamentary Elections this year.

00:12Details in the national news of Luisa Erispe of PTV Manila.

00:18Now that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. certified as Urgent Bill

00:23to pass the BARM Parliamentary Elections in October this year,

00:27the Commission on Elections is ready to pass this bill.

00:32Comelec said that they are not printing ballots for the Parliamentary Elections

00:40because of the legislation in the Senate.

00:42We ordered the Printing Committee to set aside the printing

00:47if we are talking about the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections

00:50because the printing of the Bangsamoro National and Local Elections will continue.

00:55But for the Parliamentary Elections, they need to be set aside

00:58because we can do that at the end.

01:00Another reason why they are not printing parliamentary ballots

01:04is that they might change the list of candidates.

01:08It is possible that the 7 district representatives

01:11who will come from Sulu will be distributed to different provinces in BARM

01:16to form the 70 district representatives in the Bangsamoro Organic Law.

01:21It depends on the Parliament Act or the Act of Parliament

01:28that will re-apportion the parliamentary districts

01:33based on the reason that the 7 must be distributed

01:38that originally should be distributed in Sulu.

01:43The Election Code, Administrative Code, Local Government Code

01:48and they need to pass the law that will distribute the 7.

01:52Even if the distribution of the districts continues,

01:55in June, Komelek's target is to have a new COC filing in BARM

02:00and in July or August, the printing of the new ballots.

02:04As for the cost, Komelek said, it depends on the law that will be passed by the Congress.

02:10If these are special elections, they will need 2.5 billion pesos in additional funds.

02:16But if these are just for the national and local elections,

02:20Komelek will only print the ballots.

02:23If there will be a separate Bangsamoro parliamentary election,

02:28we came up only with 2.5 billion pesos.

02:31We are asking for an additional budget for our government.

02:38Komelek also said, it is only for the district representatives

02:41to change the list of candidates

02:44For the political party representatives and sectoral representatives,

02:48it is possible that there will be no change in the list of accredited and process of voting.
