00:00Hello there, good evening. It's been a wet and windy start to the week with some
00:04heavy showers and longer spells of rain and I'm afraid it's still not quite time
00:07to put away the raincoats just yet. Heading into this evening still plenty
00:11of heavy showers moving their way across the country. These merging together to
00:15bring longer spells of rain at times. We could even see once again some hail and
00:18thunder particularly across the south. Some rain warnings in force across
00:22southern parts of Wales and southwest England so we could see a very wet start
00:25here by the time we reach Tuesday morning and still a wind warning in
00:28force too. So a chance we could still see gusts of around 70 miles per hour
00:32around exposed coasts of the southwest. So an unsettled night on offer
00:36still plenty of showers across northern areas too. Could even see some snow
00:39across the hills of Scotland where we'll see plenty of cloud around some strong
00:44winds. Temperatures remaining widely above zero but obviously feeling rather
00:48cold where you do catch the strongest of the winds. As we head into tomorrow
00:53another unsettled day ahead I'm afraid. Once again still plenty of showers
00:56skirting their way eastwards across the country. We could see quite a wet day on
01:00offer across parts of Lincolnshire, Yorkshire also across the southeast
01:04where these longer spells of rain are set to continue. Even across parts of
01:07Wales where that rain warning is still continuing so likely to see some
01:10flooding issues here. And once again around northern coasts, Northern Ireland,
01:14Scotland still plenty of showers feeding through here. The best of any dry weather
01:17likely through across the Scottish borders, northern parts of England but
01:21still here seeing a risk of showers through the afternoon. Now temperatures
01:25widely around average for the time of year. Perhaps slightly milder across the
01:29south that obviously being offset by the wet and windy weather here. Then through
01:34into the evening once again we'll still see plenty of showers largely becoming
01:37confined to southern parts as we head through the night. Still plenty moving
01:41around northern coasts too but on the whole showers mainly easing away leaving
01:45plenty of clear spells by the time we reach Wednesday morning. That's away from
01:49any coastal areas. So with clearer skies and winds turning generally lighter that
01:54means temperatures likely to dip away. So likely a cooler night on offer by the
01:58time we reach Wednesday but still plenty of cloud and showers across Scotland
02:01still by the time we reach the morning. Once again with some snow over hills. Now
02:06as we head towards the middle part of the week we do just need to keep an eye
02:09on this area of low pressure just skirting across the south likely
02:13bringing in some heavy rain and some strong winds mainly through across the
02:16English Channel. But a few model runs just have this low slightly shifted
02:20further north so a chance we could see some more widespread areas of rain by
02:23the time we reach Wednesday. But for the time being it looks like most of the
02:27rain largely confined just to across southern counties of the UK. A very wet
02:31and windy day on offer for parts of the Channel Islands but on the whole most of
02:35the rain largely staying confined to the south so a very wet day on offer here.
02:39But further north you can see there's actually plenty of dry weather around.
02:42There could be a good deal of cloud but perhaps by the afternoon that breaking
02:46up allowing some sunshine to break through particularly across Northern
02:49Ireland, Northwest Scotland and Northwest parts of England. But there are still
02:53plenty of showers feeding in around coastal areas for Northern Ireland and
02:56parts of Scotland. It could be quite breezy here at times too. Temperatures
03:00once again around about average for the time of year. Still slightly milder to
03:03the south but this is where we're likely to see the wettest of the weather. That's
03:08it from me. If you want more details on the week ahead weather you can take a
03:12look on YouTube with Alex Burkhill's video on the week ahead. Otherwise that
03:16is it from me. Bye bye for now.
