00:00It is day 5 of 6 of the 25th running of the Santos Tour Down Under.
00:08We are racing today from McLaren Vale to the destination hill of Willunga Hill.
00:14And this is Albert Philipsen, the youngster in the Zwift white jersey.
00:19Also the sprint leader here, Sam Welsford, all signing in moments ago.
00:23And of course one man has already won the competition there, Fergus Browning in the
00:27King of the Mountains.
00:28He's got to finish this race tomorrow.
00:31So the riders are all ready.
00:33Now is Romo going to keep on leading this race?
00:373, 2, 1...
00:41Underway.
00:42They'll roll out, they'll clear McLaren Vale.
00:45It's a beautiful wine centre and we've been coming here over the years very, very often.
00:51And the five riders are completed by Pablo Torres.
00:55Now that's a dangerous one.
00:57That's going to cause a reaction.
01:01There's the five riders.
01:04And easily seen.
01:05Seconds mopped up at Snapper Point and no stress.
01:08As they come over the top, it's one Pedro Lopez just in front of Pablo Torres.
01:16Depending on how many riders they need to use and what other teams might get involved
01:19to assist in the chase that start to fear for their own positions on GC.
01:24As we now see the rest of the breakaway group come over the top.
01:28Lennon rolled off the front right before the crossing for the zip track intermediate sprint.
01:34So no contest here.
01:36They'll just roll through continuing.
01:38And it is Encorne who will take the three points and the three second bonus.
01:55Swift against over the top from Hepburn.
02:03No contest.
02:04No.
02:06To their part in this breakaway, Ben Swift officially is the zip track sprint to winner.
02:15Team Picnic personnel still on the front.
02:18Oscar Onley, of course, will be their main player today.
02:22Not so long ago, the gap between the break and Peloton was exactly three minutes.
02:28Within 10 kilometers, even a little bit less.
02:34They've pulled a minute off that.
02:36This is always the fear of the big riders because there's so many they've got to monitor.
02:41You haven't got the ability to chase every move.
02:45This could be a very interesting result for Jaco.
02:49Schmitt has promised this.
02:51That was the KOM.
02:52He just crossed over the line.
02:54Maro Schmitt takes top points.
02:56Then you come around the corner.
02:57There's the finish.
02:58That's next lap.
03:00Breaking away with Maro Schmitt.
03:02He's dropped back into play.
03:03Watch out because here goes the jersey.
03:05He took a look across the road.
03:07He put his feet down and he's going to go alone now.
03:10Now we're going to see what's going on.
03:12Well, he said, if you want to throw the script out and do another playbook, he is mine.
03:16The best defense is attack.
03:19He's confident.
03:21Now it's a long way.
03:222.7 kilometers.
03:24It does not ease at all until you cross the finishing line.
03:28Platt is going to try and defend the position.
03:30Here comes Naves.
03:32Is he going to take on Platt beyond the corner?
03:34He's going to challenge.
03:36He's been pushed back.
03:38Naves is going to win this.
03:39He said, I like the climb.
03:41It suits me.
03:42There's no arguing that now.
03:44As Naves comes around the corner, gets the victory, gets the 10 second bonus.
03:49He will take the ochre jersey tonight.
03:54Now, this is the move from Naves.
03:56200 meters to go.
03:57Comes up over the top.
04:01Oscar Onley tries to take his wheel.
04:05That was a good kick.
04:07Flat out all the way to the line.
04:10And he pushed the ochre jersey out of the time bonuses as well.
04:16And there will be a time gap.
04:18Jonathan, mission accomplished.
04:20Yes.
04:22It was a hard day.
04:24Today, the average was high.
04:26The temperature was high.
04:28It was not easy.
04:30When you start, like everyone tells you, you are the favorite.
04:34It's not easy for me.
04:36But in the end, we made it.
04:39But for UAE Emirates XRG, it is Jonathan Naves.
04:56Your new race leader.
05:05Thank you, Mayor.
05:06And for Jake Olula, Chris Harper.
05:22Thank you, Stuart.
05:23Well done, Chris.
05:24The Yamaha most competitive ride of the day.
05:27He started the day in the jersey.
05:30And still, for Lidel Trek, Albert Philipsen.
05:37Congratulations, Albert.
05:38Thank you, Cote.
05:39Thank you, Zwift.
05:40One day to go.
05:42He's been good.
05:43But he's been a bit bruised and battered as well.
05:46This has been a tough race for him.
05:48But he's won two stages.
05:50For Red Bull, Boro Hansgrohe, Sam Welsford.
05:58And for the Red Bull, for the Red Bull, for the Red Bull,
06:01for the Red Bull, for the Red Bull, for the Red Bull,
06:03for the Red Bull, for the Red Bull.
06:06Oh, he's a prankster.
06:08This young Australian, he has delivered this week.
06:11And I know you're going to give him a big roar as he comes out.
06:14For ARA Australia National Team, Fergus Browning.
06:18This young Australian, he has delivered this week and I know you're going to give him a big roar as he comes out.
06:25For ARA, Australian National Team, Fergus Browning.
06:29Well done, Fergus. Thank you, Dane. Thank you, FX, once again for their ongoing support.
06:53Let's see if we can now show you. These are now official results.
06:56And Narvez is the new leader with one day to go.
06:59Two hours circuit down in the centre of Adelaide.
07:03Romo back to second place at nine seconds.
07:06Fischer-Black stays third at 12 seconds.
07:09Only a good challenger, as always.
07:11Platt comes up. Narvez gets the stage win, which is the first ever by an Ecuadorian rider.
07:18Only up into second. He was the winner last year.
07:21Fischer-Black still in third place and been a challenger.
07:24Lucas Platt, although he spent a lot of time at the back of the race, I do think his wrist hurts him.
07:29And he made a huge effort today and there he is on fourth place finish today.
07:33Let's have a look at the sprint results here.
07:37Because this is proving to be quite a competition again.
07:40Oh, look at that. They're tied on 60. They're both 60, aren't they?
07:44Wow. Well, that is... And tomorrow they get 30 if they were to win the stage, either of them.
07:51So that could go shoulder to shoulder in the final sprint of the race tomorrow in Adelaide.
07:56Kocka always in. He's only eight points off the pace.
07:59You never know how this turns around tomorrow.
08:02This has got to be one of the closest finishes we've ever had in the zip track points competition.
