Transcript
00:00Well, today we are in Oviedo, in Spain, in my museum, my hometown, so it's a fantastic
00:05opportunity for me to show everyone what we have here, and I have this possibility with
00:11Aramco and Aston Martin, the head of the Aramco Spanish Grand Prix, to really inspire the
00:17next generation.
00:18We have a lot of kids that came today to discover the world of motorsport, not only driving,
00:23also the mechanical side of it, engineering, media, marketing, you know, and yeah, we've
00:29been doing some workshops outside the driving staff, and also obviously the karting, which
00:34is the main activity.
00:36Well, today we are at my museum in Oviedo, in Asturias, we are filming some very interesting
00:44content with Aramco, and we are with a group of kids that they are discovering motorsport,
00:51so we are trying to inspire the next generation, and you know, it has been a wonderful day
00:56and yeah, happy to be here.
00:58Well, I think I'm obviously, I feel honoured to, I'm privileged to be part of Aston Martin
01:05and Aramco in this type of initiatives.
01:09I think for me it was, and it is very important to help the next generation.
01:15I was one of the first drivers, Spanish drivers, into Formula One, and probably back then I
01:24didn't have the facilities, I didn't have the knowledge, and I didn't have the country
01:29just embracing Formula One.
01:31Now we have those, and it's just a good moment to inspire, you know, the next generation,
01:37kids, they discover Formula One for the first time, they discover motorsport, not only as
01:42a driver, you know, as an engineer, as a mechanic, you know, there are many forms of motorsport,
01:46and this is, I think, the right time, so, you know, I'm very happy that Aramco and Aston
01:51Martin is doing these kind of things.
01:53It is, I think, this third activation of this next generation, it is very important, now
02:03this time it's obviously in Spain, ahead of the Aramco Spanish Grand Prix, and it's in
02:08my hometown, so I cannot ask for more, and, you know, it has been an incredible day, and
02:16I think, you know, to see in the faces of the next generation the passion already, and
02:23the interest about motorsport, the sport that we love, is really inspiring.
02:29I think off track, and of the driving lessons, you know, they are discovering that motorsport
02:35has a very wide, you know, range of different possibilities, you know, from the mechanical
02:41side, the engineering side, designing, marketing, media, you know, there are a lot of things
02:46that are around a motorsport career, and, you know, everyone has his own interest, his
02:53own appetite to things, and I think today has been very inspiring.
02:58I think it is important to myself, and also to Aramco, to show the world what is inside
03:06motorsport, inside Formula One, it's a very complex technology, but I think Formula One
03:11is also a laboratory of the next, of the future fuels, the future lubricants, always searching
03:20for perfection, but I think you discover quickly in this world of Formula One that perfection
03:26is an unlimited search, because there is never enough, you know, and you are always constantly
03:33searching for something extra, that today you may think that it doesn't exist, but in
03:37two months' time, in two years' time, it will be a real possibility, so I think that is
03:43what I think I love from Aramco, from Aston Martin, that they are, I think, united on
03:51this search, and they are never happy where we are now.
