00:12Circular Diard was born, the new co-op of Fincantieri and Gruppo Era for the management of waste.
00:18Sustainable Nutrition fights waste, the project of active citizenship for conscious consumption.
00:25Almost 13 million of investment in design and construction of new plants,
00:29re-qualification, optimization of infrastructures and equipment in view of the circular economy
00:34that will bring already from the first year a reduction of 15% of undifferentiated waste.
00:39These are the numbers of Circular Diard SRL, the co-op of Fincantieri and Gruppo Era,
00:44which aims to realize in the 8 Italian construction sites of Fincantieri
00:48an innovative integrated waste management system aimed at their enhancement.
00:53Born following the memorandum of understanding signed in July 2024,
00:57Circular Diard SRL will deal with 100,000 tons per year of industrial waste.
01:03It is a good project because there is zero rhetoric, there is a desire to pursue sustainability,
01:10combined with the desire to improve the processes and generate operational efficiency.
01:16So it is, if you want, a very serious example of how in pursuing industrial sustainability
01:24the operational advantages are pursued and vice versa.
01:28Industry is strongly dependent on the provisioning of raw materials from abroad
01:36and with this Circular Diard SRL we launch a strong and clear message
01:42that we want to increasingly become the engine of the circular economy of Italian and European industrial fabric.
01:51Circular economy means becoming less and less dependent on the provisioning of raw materials from abroad.
02:01Circular Diard is made up of 60% of Gruppo Era and 40% of Fincantieri.
02:06Gruppo Era will have 55% of Air Ambiente Servizi Industriali
02:11and 5% of Reggiani Albertino SPA ACR.
02:15Both companies are controlled by Air Ambiente,
02:18one of the main national operators in the environment sector and one of the first in Europe.
02:23The aim is not to bring more waste to waste.
02:27And first of all, I would say, the real aim is to try to reduce the waste produced by the company
02:33by going into the production processes of Fincantieri.
02:36To do this, we also make a good amount of investments.
02:40We will start from Montfalcone and then work on the other shipyards,
02:45in particular where we are leaders in Italy in the treatment of the so-called Sentina waters,
02:51which are the waters to be purified, which are generated in the work of the naval shipyards
02:57and today they are transported abroad.
02:59We will design on-site systems that will therefore also save transport, CO2,
03:05and will allow the remergeration of the waters and the reintroduction into the local natural system.
03:12Sustainability is based on strategic choices that are no longer deferrable.
03:15It is necessary to promote models of production and consumption,
03:18focusing on change, first individual and then collective,
03:21and to increase consumers' awareness of the issues of sustainable nutrition,
03:27the importance of certified supply chains, food safety and the fight against waste.
03:33These are the key elements of the project Sustainable Nutrition and the Fight Against Waste,
03:37launched by Cittadinanza Attiva in collaboration with the research center EngageMinds Hub of the Catholic University.
03:44The non-conditioned support of the Italian Union for Sustainable Palm Oil
03:48is presented in Bologna at Marca 2025, the international fair of the distributor brand.
03:54There is a lot of confusion about the very concept of sustainable nutrition,
03:58where we understand it as the possibility for the consumer to act in a conscious way,
04:05a choice behavior that allows him to act in the first person,
04:09therefore orienting with his own choices also the production and distribution processes,
04:15preferring precisely those that can be the most sustainable and most circular lines.
04:19Nutrition in a sustainable way and reducing waste are two approaches that every citizen should be able to adopt easily
04:26and all the actors of the food, agriculture, transformation and distribution sectors
04:31are called to collaborate to facilitate the choices of consumers.
04:35It is very important because, unfortunately, palm oil was attacked years ago,
04:42I still have some contrary articles,
04:47but thanks to that, palm oil was organized with the Association of Sustainable Palm Oil,
04:55therefore it is important to ensure that our oil, sustainable, certified, safe,
05:03can be used with confidence and safety by the consumer.
05:09The active citizenship research of the Italian Union of Sustainable Palm Oil
05:13underlines how it is necessary to discuss one's habits and get informed.
05:18There is a real need for a cultural change in food consumption
05:23and we hope to be able to activate first of all a participation from below,
05:28a greater involvement, a greater awareness of consumers,
05:33but also of all stakeholders of the industry, therefore of production and also of distribution,
05:40so that sustainability is not just a fascinating label, but a pragmatic principle of behavior.
05:50Eva Alessi, responsible for sustainability of WWF Italy,
05:55who presented the Food for Future campaign, with which WWF wants to bring sustainability to everyone's lips,
06:02underlining the importance of segmenting the public and using appropriate language,
06:07avoiding trivializing complex issues.
06:10We are also looking, with the activities of communication carried out in Italy,
06:14to bring sustainability to everyone's lips.
06:17WWF Italy has chosen to launch this campaign called Food for Future,
06:23to promote an ecological transition of food systems.
06:28It is necessary to find a way not to trivialize, to simplify,
06:32but, if possible, also to get people used to reading a minimum of complexity.
