00:00It is why DRS the Chiefs will play in an AFC Championship game for a spot in Super Bowl
00:0659 once again on Sunday night.
00:10And look at the numbers for an AFC Championship game between two very familiar foes.
00:16A point and a half in favor of KC minus 122 now on the money line.
00:22We're talking 26 cents of difference and a total of 48 and a half.
00:28You said it as we started to break down the divisional round game between the Chiefs and
00:33the Texans that you'll be rooting for Buffalo to give us something new and fresh contending
00:38for a Lombardi trophy.
00:40And you'll hear from everybody this week.
00:42The Bills have this advantage.
00:43The Bills have this edge over KC this year.
00:47But at the end of the day, it's Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelsey, Steve Spagnuolo.
00:54It's Chris Jones.
00:55This goes on and on in the Chiefs in an AFC Championship game for a seventh consecutive
01:01season.
01:02It's amazing.
01:03And yes, they have home field advantage and we understand that the game was already decided
01:07earlier in the season.
01:08Hey, Buffalo's got that advantage.
01:09They're thinking about it already.
01:10They can beat this team.
01:11We've seen crazier circumstances where the Bills actually had Kansas City beat in a playoff
01:15game in their own building with seconds left on the clock and still wound up losing that.
01:20You see the total in that game, which is interesting.
01:22Weather forecast supposed to be cold.
01:23Not as cold as you saw in Kansas City.
01:25This past week, about 32, 33 degrees.
01:27No precipitation in the forecast and light winds.
01:29Fantastic.
01:30We don't want any extracurriculars to come into this one.
01:33We want the cleanest football we can get.
01:34I look at that 48 and a half and your initial results, wow, AFC title game, Chiefs, slow
01:39it down.
01:40But I've always asked for this because if the MO is true, Kansas City will engage you
01:44in any style you want to play because they have Mahomes and Andy Reid and a great defense.
01:48You want to slow it down where they feel that you can't score on them, Kansas City will
01:51slow it down with you.
01:52But in order to make enough plays, which I think the Bills can, I want to see Kansas
01:56City's offense awaken in this game.
01:59Take some shots deep because they know they can't just say, well, we'll hang around a
02:03long time in this game and we just think we'll steal it from the Bills.
02:06The Bills are too talented to do that.
02:07So I'm intrigued by thinking early in the week, this game should be all over because
02:11of the game script itself.
02:13But then you see that minus one and a half.
02:15And what are we asking, Ben?
02:16Okay.
02:17It comes down to the Chiefs are at home.
02:20They are healthy and you just need the Chiefs to win this game.
02:23And there will be people ringing that flag up there for the Buffalo Bills at the end
02:27of that game going, Ben, the same thing.
02:29Refs cheated us.
02:30We didn't make kicks.
02:32Unbelievable.
02:33How did the Chiefs win?
02:34And we go, they do this every single year, every, like, Ben, the record isn't nine and
02:39eight this year where they got so lucky to win.
02:42Look at the record.
02:43Look at the record over the past decade with Andy Reid.
02:45This is what they do.
02:46They just win.
02:47And all they have to do with that one and a half is just win.
02:52Sixteen and three.
02:53Now the playoff record for Patrick Mahomes is the starting quarterback in Kansas City.
02:58The Chiefs attempting to make history, to become the first ever back-to-back Super Bowl
03:03champion to even play in a third consecutive Super Bowl, let alone win a Lombardi trophy.
03:11And the Bills now have to see their postseason nemesis once again for a spot in a Super Bowl
03:19on the line.
03:21More on that game in the AFC title and the NFC Championship between two familiar foes
03:27as well.
03:28Next.
03:29For a spot in Super Bowl 59, it's Patrick Mahomes against Josh Allen once again.
03:36The Buffalo Bills have won the AFC East now for five consecutive seasons.
03:41Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have played in the AFC Championship game now for seven
03:46consecutive years.
03:48But in the head-to-head DRS, since the start of 2020, the Bills and the Chiefs have played
03:54five times in the regular season.
03:56Buffalo has won four.
03:58Dominant, some might say.
04:00They have played three times in the postseason.
04:03The Chiefs have won all three, including the 2020 AFC Championship game, the largest margin
04:10of victory for KC.
04:12They won by two touchdowns as a round a field goal favorite at home.
04:17The last two, including last year in the divisional round and a monumental divisional round matchup
04:23in 2021's NFL season, were as good of football games as you will get.
04:30Last year decided by just three points.
04:32Of course, 2021 in overtime, the Chiefs winning in 13 seconds, as we all know it, in regulation
04:40as well.
04:41And what we will see for the fourth time in the last five years, these two teams will
04:45meet up in a playoff game, now in a conference championship for a spot in Super Bowl 59
04:52at stake, 26 cents of difference.
04:57That's it on the money line.
04:58Yeah, it's kind of crazy as it lines up this way, right?
05:01And just think of if Patrick Mahomes was in the NFC and not the AFC, how much better you'd
05:06be saying, hey man, Josh Allen's been to multiple Super Bowls.
05:08Lamar Jackson's been to the Super Bowls here.
05:10That's not the case because you keep running into Kansas City and primarily running into
05:15Kansas City at home.
05:16And sometimes, Ben, it even goes back just to last year.
05:20Last year was the year to get the Chiefs.
05:22Yes, they had the home playoff game to start against the Miami Dolphins.
05:25There's no way the Chiefs with that football team are going to Buffalo and to Baltimore
05:31and winning those games.
05:32And they did.
05:33Now they have home field advantage, which is exactly where you want to be, taking on
05:37a team that you've had had playoff success with over the past couple of years.
05:41And you're lining that game up at one and a half.
05:43It'll be interesting, again, because I do think the gameplay opens up more at that 48
05:47and a half.
05:48And just some out there is 47 and a half, depending where you're shopping at.
05:50But FanDuel today is 48 and a half and one and a half.
05:53It just, it doesn't, the things I'm trying to say here is that line itself, we don't
05:59make that up.
06:00It's there for a reason.
06:01But boy, oh boy, like I guess there are people out there that just have the notion of finally
06:07Buffalo has them right where they want it, but Buffalo didn't have them right where they
06:10wanted last year at home in their own building.
06:12And you see that one and a half, and sometimes you don't want to overcomplicate things.
06:16And usually your first inclination is the correct one.
06:19When I saw that line at one and a half, I thought immediately of Kansas City just has
06:23to win a home playoff game, which is what they always do to get to the Super Bowl, which
06:28feels like that's what they always do.
06:30Like am I wrong?
06:31Is that just so much of a thought process?
06:33It's like, you're crazy.
06:34That line shows ultimate respect to Buffalo and it does, but we've seen Kansas City disrespected
06:39in more ways than one as if like, did we ever see like New England disrespected with all
06:43those playoff runs?
06:44It's always like the line was appropriate for them where you never looked at like, eh,
06:47that doesn't make too much sense.
06:48But now I just think we're feeding into it.
06:50And that same notion I have been, they weren't nine and eight getting lucky winning games.
06:53Yes, at the end of the games, they're blocking field goals and they're getting plays going
06:56in the direction, but that's not a luck factor.
06:59That is a team putting themselves in the best possible position to win on a week to week
07:03basis and understanding they play those games and win the majority of them.
07:06And that's what we're setting up on Sunday for me.
07:08Look, love it.
07:09We're content people, Buffalo in the Super Bowl, content, gold, something new, something
07:15fresh, something fun, Kansas City in the Super Bowl again, same thing pops up the same way
07:20we had all those New England Patriots games.
07:23Like just give us something new.
07:25A lot of us are just rooting for that alone.
07:29Absolutely so.
07:30I'm just going to stress that number is telling you that on a neutral field, the Buffalo Bills
07:34are a better football team on a neutral field in a non-playoff atmosphere.
07:38The Bills might be laying three, three and a half way back in week number 11, when they
07:43met up in the regular season in Orchard Park, the Bills were around a two, two and a half
07:47point favorite won that game 30 to 21 in the 16 regular season games that KC played its
07:54starters for.
07:56It was the only loss again.
07:58You might hate it, but you hate it because of how great Kansas City has been.
08:05They were 15 and one in the regular season.
08:08They are looking to make history just with a victory on Sunday night against the Bills
08:13becoming the first ever back-to-back Super Bowl champion in NFL history, even to reach
08:20a third consecutive Super Bowl.
08:23The Chiefs against the Bills in the postseason are a perfect 3-0 straight up and 3-0 against
08:29the spread.
08:30The Bills did exercise one of their playoff demons yesterday in the victory against Baltimore,
08:37bounced from the division around three consecutive years.
08:40They got to the AFC championship game.
08:43Now they need to exercise another one, their playoff nemesis, losing to the Chiefs three
08:49times in the last four postseasons, a fourth time in the last five years.
08:54So very familiar foes when it comes to trying to reach the pinnacle of the AFC, very familiar
09:00foes DRS in that NFC title game on Sunday in Philadelphia as well.
09:06Divisional mates from the NFC East now in the NFC title game, Philadelphia, a five and
09:13a half point favorite against the Washington Commanders line opened up last night at four
09:18and a half in favor of the birds.
09:20It is quickly worked in Philly's favor, total 47 and a half.
09:25What is your first read on that five and a half point number in favor of the Eagles?
09:31You want to watch what's going to take place this week.
09:33And the reason I bring that up is the practice reports are going to be key because when key
09:36players are missing, that's going to affect lines, which includes quarterbacks here.
09:41If Jalen Hurt's probably going to get limited practices in this week, if he's functional
09:44in the pocket, they should be okay.
09:47Quinion Mitchell, one of the best young, talented cornerbacks in the NFL, which you're going
09:52to need next week, looks like he was possibly done for the season, but now we're getting
09:56some updates that it wasn't all that serious, something to keep an eye on there.
10:00Also a key offensive player for the Washington Commanders, which is Sam Cosby on that offensive
10:05line.
10:06We'll get some updates there.
10:07And why would a guard who might be your best offensive player be kind of important going
10:11up against Jalen Carter?
10:12I need to watch this week, but that shows me that's a strong number.
10:15Four and a half to five and a half now for the Eagles at home.
10:18The oddsmakers are saying the Eagles are the better team, which they are.
10:21The Eagles are at home, which they are, and they should advance to play in the Super Bowl.
10:26That's how I read that line right now.
10:28A best of three between Philadelphia and Washington and Philadelphia DRS, not just a five and
10:34a half point favorite to win the NFC championship, a plus 180 favorite to win a Lombardi trophy
10:41in front of both teams from the AFC.
10:44That includes the Chiefs and the Bills, of course.
