00:00Gateshead's bid for promotion from the National League to League 2 took a dent as Halifax
00:07won 3-1 at the International Stadium on Tuesday evening. The visitors went 2-0 up inside the
00:13first half, and despite Gateshead pulling a goal back via a Luke Hannan penalty early
00:17on in the second, a 66th minute third goal for Halifax put the tie beyond the Heade army.
00:24It has been a frustrating January so far for Gateshead, as they have lost key players
00:29to other teams, which has disrupted the squad and its unity. Despite this, they still sit
00:35within the play-off places, in fourth place on 47 points and only five points away from
00:40the top of the table. New incomings have arrived in the last few days to fill the gaps left
00:46by those who have departed the club, but Gateshead need to improve their on-field performances
00:51if they are to remain in the play-offs and finally realise their dream of going up to
00:56the Football League.
