00:00A frozen pitch at the International Stadium on Saturday prevented Gateshead taking on
00:06Boston United at home. Instead, the venue was moved to Stockton, given that they did
00:12not have a home fixture. However, Gateshead could not make it three trips to Wembley in
00:17the FA Trophy in three years, as the holders were dumbed out of the competition by Boston
00:22United by three goals to one. The away side took the lead in the first half, but Gateshead
00:29struck back in the second thanks to a goal from Will McGowan. But soon after, Boston
00:34struck back with two goals in three minutes to make the score 3-1, with around 15 minutes
00:40of normal time left. This put the game out of reach for Gateshead, meaning that scenes
00:45like this will not be seen by the Heat army come May, although they are in the play-offs
00:51currently in the National League, meaning that a trip to Wembley via the play-off route
00:55is still very much on the cards.
