00:00The Department of Migrant Workers and the Department of Trade and Industry

00:04are working together to provide overseas Filipino workers and their families with a way to make a living.

00:18In 2016, the business of KCell, a Filipino worker from Nueva Ecija, started.

00:23She used to be an overseas Filipino worker in Qatar as a secretary in a government position.

00:30Some of her products are chocolate, mushroom chips, and banana chips, all locally made.

00:37Her mystery is related to business.

00:40Just last year, she joined the Bi-Local, Bi-OFWs project,

00:45which is part of the Revitalization and Reintegration Program of the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Migrant Workers.

00:53We decided to start a business so that when we forego, we can do what we need to do here in the Philippines

01:01while having a business and at the same time being able to help not just for the community

01:05but also for our OFWs and local farmers.

01:10Because of this program, she was able to loan P4 million that she used for expansion, marketing,

01:17and other expenses for her factory investment farm in Davao.

01:22This is also a testament to the success of her business.

01:25Now, she has 50 employees.

01:29She is also able to export products to other countries.

01:32Sales have increased and the products are better known.

01:36We are able to have orders not just here but also around the Philippines.

01:42KCell is just one of the beneficiaries of the Bi-Local, Bi-OFWs project

01:47that participated in the MOA signing of the DMW and DTI.

01:51It will provide support for the livelihoods and products of OFWs.

01:56It also aims to support local products, businesses, and services.

02:02We have to make sure that their money is put into good use

02:06so that when they come home, they will have something to give back

02:09and their families will have something to rely on.

02:12In addition to the agreement, there will be training and seminars for the beneficiaries.

02:19It will strengthen micro, small, and medium enterprises or MSMEs.

02:24It will support different investment options such as franchising

02:29that will greatly help the business they want to invest in.

02:33It will also provide financial assistance

02:35through government financial institutions and private sector partners.

02:41Through this product, our OFWs will have greater opportunities

02:45to empower themselves economically and socially upon their return to the Philippines.
