00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has earned praise from the Diplomatic Corps for his efforts to attract leaders from different countries.
00:10In the traditional bandenur in Malacanang, the President offered the good fruit of a strong relationship between the Philippines and the countries around the world.
00:19This is the story of Kenneth Paciente.
00:22President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. recognized the important role of the member of the Diplomatic Corps in the bandenur in Malacanang last night.
00:33According to the President, with the help of the bandenur, the Philippines and our relationship with other countries became stronger.
00:42A great deal has transpired in the last two and a half years.
00:45The Philippines has since embarked on a diplomatic agenda that leverages international partnerships,
00:52which have translated to increased bilateral engagements and cooperation with traditional partners and new allies in key economic sectors and security areas.
01:03This has resulted in a vibrant exchange of high-level visits from many of your officials and from your capitals,
01:13as well as several outgoing visits from the Philippines of Philippine officials from across many of our government agencies.
01:20The President also added that this partnership has served to strengthen the country's economy
01:26due to the entry of potential investors despite some geopolitical tensions.
01:31If the President grows, the country will remain one of the strongest economies in Asia.
01:37He also stated that the total revenue collection reached Php 4.42 trillion, which is equivalent to 16.7% of the GDP.
01:46It is the highest in the past 27 years.
01:50The country's credit ratings have also increased and the unemployment rate has fallen.
01:55But the President insists that the government should continue to work to have more opportunities for the Filipinos.
02:04I certainly hope that this trend will continue as it signals that there are more employment opportunities in the country.
02:12My dream remains that to be able to say that one day that we can say that overseas work is purely a matter of choice and not one of necessity.
02:24The President is confident that the country will be able to reach the GNI per capita set by the World Bank
02:30to increase the country's upper-middle-income status.
02:33This is through focusing on infrastructure investment,
02:37strengthening the ease of doing business,
02:40as well as national competitiveness,
02:42which, according to the President, can be encouraged by the leaders.
02:46The Executive Board has once again insisted that the country should continue to promote peace and order
02:52as well as compliance with international law
02:55because there is no other way for peace and development but to comply with rules-based international order.
03:02Next, the President believes that the country can lead to ensure peace and security in the international agenda.
03:10That is why he wants the country to have a permanent position in the United Nations Security Council for 2027-2028.
03:19Our candidature is consistent with our long-held view that we need to further strengthen
03:24multilateralism through efforts that will reform the Security Council and revitalize the General Assembly.
03:32I take this opportunity anew to convey to your respective governments
03:37our earnest request for your support to our UNSC bid.
03:42And we hope for your support when the time comes,
03:46when we are indeed sitting as a member of the Security Council.
03:53More than 140 visitors attended the activities held by ambassadors from various countries,
03:59members of the Diplomatic Corps, as well as some international organizations.
04:04Vandeneuil is one of the official receptions led by the President.
04:09One is for the new year, while the other is held every year on Independence Day.
04:14The Diplomatic Corps also recognized the country's successes in the past year
04:19and expressed their confidence that the country will advance further this year.
04:24To the President of the Republic of the Philippines,
04:27His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., for his well-being, health, and success.
04:33And to the peace, prosperity, and happiness of the Filipino people,
04:38may God bless the Philippines.
04:40Mabuhay! Cheers!
04:42Cheers!
