00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. praised the efforts of the Diplomatic Corps
00:05to attract investors from different countries.
00:09In the traditional Vandu Nor in Malacanang,
00:12the President gave the good fruit of a strong relationship
00:17between the Philippines and other countries.
00:19Here is the report.
00:23President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized the important role of the Diplomatic Corps
00:29in the construction of the Vandu Nor in Malacanang last night.
00:32According to the President,
00:33with its help, the Philippines became closer and more familiar
00:36and our relationship with other countries became stronger.
00:40A great deal has transpired in the last two and a half years.
00:43The Philippines has since embarked on a diplomatic agenda
00:47that leverages international partnerships,
00:50which have translated to increased bilateral engagements
00:54and cooperation with traditional partners
00:57and new allies in key economic sectors and security areas.
01:01This has resulted in a vibrant exchange of high-level visits
01:06from many of your officials and from your capitals,
01:11as well as several outgoing visits from the Philippines of Philippine officials
01:16from across many of our government agencies.
01:19The President also added that this partnership has served to strengthen the country's economy
01:24due to the entry of potential investors despite some geopolitical tensions.
01:30With the President in power,
01:31the country remains one of the most stable economies in Asia.
01:35He also stated that the total revenue collection reached Php4.42 trillion,
01:41which is equivalent to 16.7% of the GDP.
01:44It is the highest in the past 27 years.
01:48The country's credit ratings have also risen
01:51and the unemployment rate has fallen.
01:54But the President is determined to continue working with the government
01:58to create more opportunities for Filipinos.
02:02I certainly hope that this trend will continue as it signals
02:06that there are more employment opportunities in the country.
02:10My dream remains that to be able to say that one day
02:15that we can say that overseas work is purely a matter of choice
02:20and not one of necessity.
02:22The President is confident that the country will reach the GNI per capita set by the World Bank
02:28to elevate the country to the upper-middle-income status.
02:32This is through focusing on infrastructure investment,
02:36strengthening the ease of doing business,
02:38as well as national competitiveness,
02:40which, according to the President, can be encouraged by the leaders.
02:45Once again, the Executive Board has insisted that the country will continue to promote
02:49peace and order in accordance with international law
02:53because there is no other way for it to use peace and development
02:57but in accordance with the rules-based international order.
03:01Next, the President believes that the country can lead
03:04to ensure peace and security in the international agenda.
03:09That is why he wants the country to have a permanent position
03:12in the United Nations Security Council for 2027-2028.
03:17Our candidature is consistent with our long-held view
03:20that we need to further strengthen multilateralism
03:24through efforts that will reform the Security Council
03:27and revitalize the General Assembly.
03:30I take this opportunity anew to convey to your respective governments
03:35our earnest request for your support to our UNSC bid,
03:40and we hope for your support when the time comes,
03:45when we are indeed sitting as a member of the Security Council.
03:51More than 140 visitors attended the event
03:55attended by ambassadors from various countries,
03:58members of the Diplomatic Corps,
03:59and some international organizations.
04:03Van den Oor is one of the official receptions led by the President.
04:07One is for the New Year,
04:08while the other is for Independence Day.
04:12The Diplomatic Corps also praised the country's successes in the past year
04:17and expressed confidence that the country will advance further this year.
04:22To the President of the Republic of the Philippines,
04:25His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.,
04:28for his well-being, health, and success,
04:31and to the peace, prosperity, and happiness of the Filipino people,
04:36may God bless the Philippines.
04:38Mabuhay! Cheers!
