00:00And we will continue in Venezuela, where the World Law Facilities Festival continues on its last day,
00:05a day after the inauguration of President Nicolás Maduro for the term 2025-2031.
00:12Our special envoy, Juno Sonner, has all the details and he's live from Caracas. Welcome, Juno.
00:21Hello, good afternoon from the La Carota Convention Center. It's a little bit noisy
00:26around me, loud music, because President Nicolás Maduro has just arrived at this
00:33convention center, I'm informed. Or it is expected to arrive, but let's take a moment
00:41to discuss with our special guests here this situation about fascism, global fascism.
00:48And we have a guest here that is from Greece. We have the guest, Aris Papagios. Thank you very
01:02much for joining us. Fascism is a huge topic in Europe as well. How do you perceive fascism
01:10from a Greek perspective? Well, Greece is known for its democracy, for its ancient times, but
01:17in modern times, Greece has been a victim of fascism. It has been a victim of Nazi German
01:23occupation and their collaborators and military dictatorships later. So we have a very clear
01:30outlook on fascism and the imposing of imperialism and fascism in Greece from abroad.
01:38Now in Europe, there's an emerging far right, which has a totally new characteristic.
01:44They are trying to hide and abolish their neo-fascist roots, but still they
01:52support anti-immigration, Zionism, racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, machismo, sexismo,
02:03and so on. So at this moment, I think that this Congress is really inspiring.
02:08That was exactly what I was going to ask you about. What was your impression about this
02:13international anti-fascist internation? You see, in one word, inspiring. So
02:21at the same time, when you have the neoliberal globalization, which is the status quo of things
02:27for the past 20 years, and at the same time, you have an emerging global far right that has,
02:34as I said, new characteristics, it's very important to note that there are countries
02:39that resist imperialism and fascism, such as Venezuela, and also to meet with each other
02:49and give support and receive support from one another, all the comrades from all the countries
02:53that resist. I mean, I can only say that I've gained so much, and I've gained so much courage
03:01from this Congress, and we welcome the hospitality. Thank you very much.
03:05Thank you very much. Now, this is an impression that our guest has expressed, but that we also
03:11got from other people, other participants, delegates here on the conference, that the
03:17existence and the victory of the Bolivarian revolution here in Venezuela has influences,
03:26has consequences beyond its borders, providing hope. Venezuela has, with this conference,
03:32itself established as a center of global fight against fascism, which this Congress,
03:40this international global festival has emphasized and show displayed once again.
03:46You have the word. Thank you.
03:49Thank you, Yunus, for the information, and also the special guest that we have today.
03:54Thank you very much.
