02:26Sophia is a third-year dentistry student.

02:29I grew up in a family full of doctors and lawyers.

02:34I also thought that the way to success is to study medicine or to become a lawyer.

02:39But Sophia's perspective changed

02:41when she met Nero, a business-minded person.

02:44Using the 50,000 pesos she earned,

02:47they started a business called Digital Business Cards.

02:50It would be the very first venture that I would ever do.

02:53So, the first time, I was scared.

02:55We were selling out 25,000 pesos back then, each comment.

02:59I was younger back then.

03:00I think I was probably 18 or 19.

03:03If you're wondering why this business came to mind,

03:05Nero's wake-up call was a turning point.

03:08I was in a conference,

03:10and I gave a calling card.

03:12When I came out of the room,

03:13I saw it in a trash can.

03:15So, I said,

03:16we really have to make something better than the paper business cards.

03:21On a trip to Singapore,

03:23Nero discovered the Digital Business Cards.

03:26But compared to its price back then,

03:28they came up with a way to make it more affordable.

03:31A Digital Business Card can be bought for 999 pesos to 2,998 pesos,

03:38depending on its design and type.

03:41You can customize the card to your liking.

03:44There are also mini or buttons

03:47that you can put on the back of your cell phone for 799 pesos.

04:26And that's why we got the office here in Pasig.

04:33now they are almost 15 years old.

05:08technology called NFC or Near Field Communication is used.

05:13An NFC card is similar to an RFID card

05:16that you use in the hallways.

05:18The only difference is,

05:20it uses Near Field Technology,

05:22which is what NFC means.

05:24So for example,

05:25if you have a phone

05:27and then you have an NFC card,

05:29when you connect it on the phone,

05:31since it's near distance,

05:33your phone will read the information

05:36that's inside of it.

05:38If the NFC program is not right,

05:43there can be a security breach.

05:46Your data can be stolen,

05:48your personally identifiable information can be read,

05:52such as credit cards.

05:54If it's near the Near Field Communication reader or NFC reader,

05:58you can read its details.

06:00For the calling card,

06:01I don't see any danger

06:03because usually what you put in your calling card

06:07is what you want other people to know.

06:16If your link is malicious

06:18or made by bad people,
