00:00Don't interrupt me.
00:01Now back to Steine and Guru.
00:03Take it away, Steine.
00:04All right, Warriors!
00:05Step!
00:08What's that for?
00:09They can win without him.
00:11What's your point, bud?
00:13That they can win without him.
00:14But that's not a reality.
00:16And they're not...
00:16Yeah, they have a better winning percentage without him.
00:20Yeah, let me get some more sample size.
00:22You're so afraid.
00:23You're so afraid.
00:25The NBA will continue.
00:27After Steph and LeBron retire, I got news for you.
00:31You might think it's going to end, but I'll bet you it forges on.
00:36Sometimes I think you look at my beautiful face as the world
00:39or the internet and you take it out on me.
00:42I ain't fighting on anything you're saying there, Steine.
00:45Get it out!
00:46I do want to say this to you and Evan.
00:47I've been holding on to this.
00:49We have a former co-worker I still continue to talk to outside of work.
00:54And we got a text thread.
00:54It's about the Warriors.
00:56And we go back and forth.
00:57And after yesterday's game, he texted me back.
01:01You sound like Steine.
01:02And I dropped my phone like...
01:04Congratulations.
01:05But I'm telling you moving forward.
01:07No, I'm positive, Pete.
01:08I'm back to positive, Pete.
01:09Let's go.
01:10Let's try to get one today.
01:11Another one.
01:12I expected that.
01:13And move forward, man.
01:14I'm tired of ripping this team.
01:16Yeah, right.
01:16But I hadn't gotten over the last two games to sack in Miami.
01:19So are you over it or not?
01:22Are you happy or you're not?
01:23Are you positive?
01:23Yeah, it is, Evan.
01:24I'm halfway.
01:24I'm 50-50.
01:26Bring me to the finish line, pal.
01:29Okay.
01:29Well then, since you're Mr. Positive...
01:32You're Mr. Positive.
01:33Trying to be.
01:34I want you to pretend you're a fan of another team.
01:39And you look at the Warriors roster.
01:42Who do you even want?
01:45Who do you even want?
01:46I gotta go down the list first.
01:48Curry.
01:49We're not trading Curry.
01:50We know that.
01:51Because I got somebody.
01:52Draymond Green.
01:53Yes, right.
01:54Let's stop right there.
01:56From the Warriors not willing to trade him.
01:58Okay, who would want Draymond?
01:59The Milwaukee Bucks.
02:01The Philadelphia 76ers.
02:03All the teams that need muscle.
02:05A guy that when everything is around him, Draymond Green can be phenomenal.
02:09And I think, you know, I come down his road, Stonnie, for how he treats his teammates or
02:13whatnot.
02:14But on the court, when you got everything around you going well, Draymond can be a maestro
02:19like he's been.
02:20And a lot of that is not at his disposal here.
02:23He's waiting on Steph a lot and it bothers me.
02:26But if you were to put him on the Clippers, do you know the Lakers?
02:31Oh, my God.
02:31I believe that would change their fortune.
02:35I'm being real and giving Dray the love he deserves in that regard, Stonnie.
02:39Yeah, I think there's about five teams that would be interested in him.
02:42And I'm not sure what you would give up for him at this point.
02:45But with Lake up in company, be willing to part.
02:47And would Steph sign off on that?
02:49Or has the cage been shook or rattled so much?
02:52The Steph would be like, Malcolm X, any means necessary, Goo.
02:56So let me get this straight.
02:57We're still doing whatever Steph wants?
03:01I'm being real here, Stonnie.
03:02I think so.
03:05OK.
03:07How would you categorize or what they're doing now?
03:11But I keep going to, you know, I'm all over, man.
03:14The Sam Amick and Calakami report of, you know,
03:18Mike Dunleavy and Joe Lake up after the Heat game, having a spicy.
03:22I thought about that driving in.
03:24Like, why would the conversation be spicy?
03:26If, Stonnie, if we're right, that you only can do what's out there, what's available to you.
03:32So what would make something spicy unless there were two different opinions on
03:36how you should move forward?
03:38You know what I mean?
03:40Let's listen to Sam Amick of The Athletic.
03:42This is from yesterday on FanDuel Radio.
03:46They don't have interest in giving him the deal that he's waiting for on the other end.
03:51And I don't think they're looking to make him a rental and have it be,
03:54you know, a strained relationship with him coming to town if they somehow were able to get him
03:58in spite of the fact that they don't want to do a max extension.
04:01That being said, we have a month to go, right?
04:03So the other night when I'm in San Francisco and they get walloped by Miami after the game,
04:09there's a place called The Bridge Club near the arena floor at Chase Center.
04:14And the owner, Joe Lacob and GM Mike Dunleavy often meet there,
04:17you know, back when Bob Myers ran the team.
04:19That's where they would meet as well.
04:21And it sounds like it got a little spicy down there,
04:23just as far as the post-loss unpacking of what had happened on the floor.
04:27And you felt, you know, some people who walked by and even engaged with
04:31Joe and Mike could really feel the frustration from the group.
04:34And that makes a lot of sense.
04:35They just got beat really badly.
04:37So then what happens is, whether it's Jimmy Butler or anybody else,
04:40you know, there's going to be a constant recalculation happening
04:43for teams like the Warriors.
04:44And just what do we need to do?
04:46Because it's one thing to not feel like you're a contender.
04:50It's another to go out and just get destroyed by a heat team that didn't have Jimmy Butler.
04:55All right, that's Sam Amick talking to FanDuel Radio.
05:00And I mean, go ahead.
05:02What's your takeaway?
05:03All right, two things.
05:04And let me just throw the number out real quick.
05:06888-957-9570.
05:09Sam Amick talking about what happened after the heat game.
05:13What do you all think?
05:14What do you all take away from that, if anything?
05:17You may not think I listen to you, but I do, Stani, more than you know.
05:21And when we have these ongoing conversations about the Warriors and what they can do
05:25and who's thinking what, it does, you know,
05:28carry weight when I talk to you and leave the studio on a daily basis.
05:32With that said, I was kind of under the impression that the Warriors are kind of at a standstill
05:38because there's not a lot on the aisle of bringing in a superstar to change this team's
05:43fortune right now.
05:44So I thought Mike D and Lakob were two peas in a pod.
05:48So if anything got spicy after a loss to Miami without their best player,
05:54followed up by previously Sacramento without Fox, I would think Lakob in the head coach,
06:00that conversation would be spicy.
06:02But when I hear this report, that's telling me maybe there was
06:07option A, that the GM felt like, you know, wasn't good enough and the owner doubled back
06:13and like, we should go with option A, but it's Lakob's team.
06:17So at the end of the day, they're going to do what he wants.
06:20So that's why I'm confused by spice.
06:22I'm pretty sure.
06:24Well, the one thing I know about Joe Lakob, I've heard this from multiple people,
06:28is the thing that rankles him the most, the thing that he can't stand more than anything else,
06:38is when the Warriors play terribly at home.
06:42He's sitting right at half court.
06:44He's going in and out.
06:46He sees everybody.
06:47And he doesn't like when the team puts on a really bad performance at Chase Center.
06:52So he's probably frustrated by that.
06:55And I'm sure after hearing Bob Myers talk about his relationship with Joe Lakob for a decade,
07:02I'm sure that Joe Lakob said to Mike Dunleavy, we can't keep doing this.
07:10We can't keep doing this.
07:12I know, Joe.
07:12I'm on the phones.
07:14I'm looking.
07:14We got to do something.
07:16We can't play the rest of the year like this.
07:19And Mike Dunleavy, he's very, very measured and poised.
07:26And he was probably like, yeah, Joe, I'm working on it.
07:29We'll see.
07:29And I've run everything by you, but this is where we're at.
07:34But the one thing that I put no credence in is the fact that Lakob is itchy, antsy, spicy,
07:45or frustrated.
07:47I just don't.
07:49That's not going to make a deal, a good deal arise.
07:54I guarantee you Mike Dunleavy feels like he's looking at five potential deals and he doesn't
07:59like any one of them.
08:01And so he hasn't made a deal yet.
08:04And Lakob's getting impatient.
08:06And if Dunleavy came to him with one of the deals, I'll bet Lakob would be like, we can't
08:11do that.
08:12And Mike will say, I know.
08:14I can't find a deal.
08:15I haven't found a deal right now.
08:18Joe, what do you want me to do?
08:20Well, he works for you.
08:22Get it done.
08:22One.
08:24So there's no scenario or thought in your mind right now that Joe Lakob is if he wants
08:31to pull the trigger on a deal, regardless of Mike says, boss, I don't think this is
08:35the right way to go.
08:37The Lakob that I think I know and I hear about, he would veto that and do it anyway.
08:42I don't think he'd want to make a bad deal.
08:45You know, Joe Lakob has talked this year and said the one thing they're not going to do
08:49is give up a ton of future first in a deal.
08:54But a Butler deal, I think that's what it would look like.
08:57So when I heard the word spice, I'm thinking I'm taking that word wrong like they were
09:01arguing over do it versus don't do it.
09:06The spice just could have been the energy like this can't keep up.
09:09That's what I think.
09:10But I wasn't there.
09:12I wasn't there.
09:13Eight, eight, eight, nine, five, seven, nine, five, seven, zero is the number.
09:19If you were on another team or if you were a fan of another team and you were looking
09:23around the league like you do as a warrior fan and other teams and you looked at the
09:28Warriors roster, is there a player you'd really want?
09:31Is there a player you really want?
09:32All right.
09:33So we got no, obviously, Curry.
09:35What about Schroeder?
09:35Can he be traded?
09:36I want to go one at a time here.
09:38So Curry's not going anywhere.
09:40Right.
09:41And name number two was Draymond.
09:44All right.
09:45I'll meet you halfway here with Draymond.
09:48I think there's probably about five teams that would want Draymond green.
09:52Five or six.
09:53Question is if let me ask you this now and warrior fans forget the player coming back.
10:01If you trade Draymond, do you get do you get worse?
10:05No, I don't.
10:07I mean, you're going to miss some of it, some of the things that he does, but you could
10:10also get better, man.
10:12You also could get better.
10:14And the guy that would step in his place would give you more of a scoring punch.
10:18So I know years past people, all the house, the roof is going to cave in if there's no
10:24Draymond.
10:25But miss me with that, Stani.
10:27And that's no shaded Dray.
10:28This team needs an infusion of bucket getters.
10:32And I just think the whole Draymond takes off like Jesse Owens with the basketball to
10:36go nowhere.
10:37But the free throw line extended to stop and wait for the for for the chef to arrive or
10:43Kaminger Wiggins.
10:44Teams have caught up with that.
10:46So I just personally think, my goodness, Stani, what if Draymond was DeAndre Ayton?
10:51What if you had something like that?
10:53They could, you know, again, not Luau Cinder, but a guy that could get you some buckets
10:58down low in the paint.
11:00That's what Steph Curry needs.
11:02That's what the Warriors need.
11:04Well, I'd be surprised if Portland's interested.
11:06And I know you will throw it out there.
11:09Why would Chicago, a team that's two, three games under 500, want Draymond Green?
11:14See, I think the only teams that would want Draymond Green are a team like maybe Milwaukee,
11:20you know, even Philadelphia.
11:22I mean, the 15 and 20, though.
11:24But a lot of that is they haven't been available.
11:27Well, you're not going to get any one of their big three players for Draymond.
11:30You're not getting Embiid.
11:31You're not getting Paul George.
11:32And you're not getting Maxey.
11:34So who else do they have?
11:36Their really good rookie, McCain, just got hurt.
11:38Kelly Oubre.
11:39They do have Kelly Oubre.
11:41Who's playing good basketball.
