00:00So, Mark, tell me how you feel about your recent positive Ofsted?

00:05Well, I feel very proud. It's taken us a long time to get that kind of recognition.

00:12We've been working on our environmental work for about 20 years now,

00:16so it's really nice for it finally to be recognised by an external agency and Ofsted.

00:24So, yeah, proud, delighted, pleased for everybody involved.

00:28This is a team venture. It's not about me, it's about everyone involved in our community.

00:34Staff, parents, governors, our community volunteers and, of course, the children themselves.

00:40So, tell me what makes this school so special and a little bit more about your work with environmental?

00:49It's really hard when you work here, but I think what makes it special is our ethos and our vision,

00:55which kind of coagulates and brings together all the work that we do.

01:00I think we are a community school. We do lots in the community.

01:04We invite the community in, so that dynamic makes us very special.

01:08Our focus on the environment, natural history, nature, horticulture, again,

01:13gives the children a really vibrant and inspiring curriculum.

01:17So I think those are the essential elements, really, that make our school very special.

01:22It's a great feeling. It's a great spirit. I came here in 1995.

01:26I thought, well, I'll do four years and I'm still here 30 years later.

01:30So that's what makes it special. Once you're here, there's a real sort of spirit and a buzz about it.

01:36It's very hard to let go.

01:39Plans for the future. We're always looking at new ideas.

01:42Climate change is a real threat to everyone's lives.

01:46So it's helping to educate children about climate change, give them facts,

01:51help them become articulate.

01:53Our vision statement on our website is we want our children to be guardians of the planet,

01:58and that's what we're working hard to achieve.

02:00It's always going to be work in progress, but we want to make our children

02:04the most vociferous, passionate people who stand up for our planet

02:08and other children around the world as well.

02:11So they're linking with them and supporting whatever's going on around the world.
