00:00No respite for Los Angeles. A sixth fire broke out in the iconic Hollywood Hills neighborhood
00:08in the early hours of Thursday. Firefighters in the Los Angeles County area have been battling
00:13multiple wildfires that have been scorching the city since Tuesday morning. Officials
00:18say at least five people were killed in the blazes. Fires are spreading at a rapid rate
00:23due to the fast wind speeds.
00:26We are still facing strong and erratic winds. In Palisades and in Sylmar, we are very much
00:33in an active firefight.
00:37And the celebrity favorite Pacific Palisades neighborhood was hit the hardest. The Palisades
00:42fires estimated to have damaged more than 1,000 structures, mostly homes. Many Hollywood
00:49A-list celebrities suffered serious losses. Paris Hilton's Beachfront Malibu family home
00:55was burnt to the ground in the fire. And hundreds of other properties succumbed to
01:00the same fate.
01:03About five of my friends' houses burned down that live up the street. When it's a wind-driven
01:13fire, there's nothing that, you know, very little we can do.
01:19The fires have cast thick clouds of smoke and ash across multiple areas in L.A. Authorities
01:26say the air quality has worsened significantly and urge residents of the affected areas to
01:31stay indoors and remain alert.
