Showers and thunderstorms across the north and east while it remains hot, dry and sunny elsewhere.

00:00G'day from the Bureau with your national weather forecast around the country for Friday the 10th
00:05of January. We're going to see widespread showers and thunderstorms across not only northern Australia
00:11but also much of eastern Australia as well and some of these storms could be severe with large
00:16hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall. While further west through much of inland parts of the
00:22country and through southern areas we're going to see another warm dry and sunny day. Let's take a
00:27look at all that in more detail. Firstly in Queensland continuing the very hot conditions
00:33out through western Queensland with temperatures in the low to mid 40s there but as I mentioned
00:38widespread showers and thunderstorms through much of eastern Queensland particularly central and
00:43southeastern Queensland with severe thunderstorms are likely there and for Brisbane we're looking
00:48at showers and thunderstorms and 28 degrees. Now moving down into New South Wales a similar story
00:54warm to hot across western parts of the state and dry conditions but widespread showers and
00:59thunderstorms through central and eastern parts and once again severe thunderstorms likely for
01:04much of eastern New South Wales as well. Looking at thunderstorms and 27 in Sydney and showers and
01:10a possible storm in Canberra 25. Now moving down into Melbourne and Victoria looking at a calmer
01:18day quite warm and possibly humid as well with temperatures in the low to mid 30s. We could see
01:23showers and thunderstorms across northeastern and eastern parts of the state during the afternoon
01:28and evening hours. Melbourne looking at a partly cloudy 30 degrees. Now down into Tasmania continuing
01:35the warm dry and sunny conditions across much of the state warming up as well with temperatures in
01:40the mid to high 20s and could see a few showers and thunderstorms through inland areas for our
01:44higher topography so watch out for those if you're heading out and about. Hobart looking at 28 degrees
01:50and partly cloudy conditions. Now moving up into South Australia continuing the hot dry and sunny
01:56conditions temperatures in the low to mid 40s across northern parts of the state low to mid 30s
02:02through southern areas. Adelaide looking at a warm and sunny 34 degrees and no rain expected in South
02:08Australia tomorrow. Then as we move into WA looking at again dry and sunny conditions through much of
02:15southern and western parts of the state 27 degrees and a few clouds in Perth while hot and stormy
02:21conditions continuing across northern parts of WA. And then finally across our tropical north
02:27as always showers and thunderstorms continuing across many northern areas temperatures in the
02:32mid to high 30s getting to the low 40s through southern parts of the NT. Darwin looking at 34
02:38degrees with showers and thunderstorms. So with all this weather around you can always get the
