A snow day for pandas at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.

The Smithsonian National Zoo posted video on Monday, January 6, of giant pandas Bao Li and Qing Bao enjoying a frolic in the snow as Washington, D.C. was blanketed by a winter storm.

The panda pair will make their public debut Friday, Jan. 24.

China sent the pandas as part of an agreement announced last year by US and Chinese government officials intended to warm relations between the two superpowers. The zoo returned three other giant pandas — two adults and their cub — which had been on loan from China.
