00:00Starting this year, government officials will receive a P7,000 medical allowance

00:06after the Department of Budget and Management, or DBM, approves the requirements for its distribution.

00:13The details are in the national news of Patricia Lopez of IBC 13.

00:20Roger has been a government employee for three decades.

00:23And because of his age, he also has some underlying feelings.

00:32The lowest I can pay is P5,000.

00:37That's why he's happy that the Department of Budget and Management, or DBM,

00:43has approved a P7,000 medical allowance for government employees this year.

00:51I really need a guarantee.

00:55Even though I'm still healthy, I'm still working.

01:01I also need to support my family.

01:04I need medicine every day.

01:08According to DBM Circular No. 2024-6,

01:13all civilian government personnel of national government agencies,

01:21regular, casual, or contractual employment status,

01:26including appointees or elective employees, full-time workers, or part-timers,

01:32including those working in state universities and colleges,

01:37government-owned and controlled corporations, local government officials,

01:42and employees of local water districts,

01:45can also use the medical allowance for the health maintenance organization of employees.

01:51It can also become a cash form for those who have their own HMOs.

01:56They pay their own medical expenses and there are no HMOs.
