00:11He was surfing at Granites Beach near Streaky Bay just after 7 o'clock last night when the
00:17attack happened.

00:37at the time of the attack.
00:39Here's what one of them had to say.
00:41We know it's known for being a sharky area and we were a bit nervous about it seeing
00:48heaps of surfers out there on the breaks.
00:52They were some nice breaks but looked pretty sketchy with the sharks.
00:55We just try to stay away from that beach.
00:57Really tragic what happened.
00:59Really thinking of his family and his friends and all his loved ones at this tragic time.
01:04Local fishermen have also been raising concerns about shark sightings in the region.
01:10One of them posting just yesterday on social media that a large aggressive great white
01:15shark had been seen in the vicinity of Granites Bay just yesterday.
01:21This is the fourth fatal shark attack in South Australia in just 20 months.
01:27One of those fatalities, a 55-year-old man, was killed in 2023 on the same stretch of
01:33beach and his body was never recovered.
