Ronaldo says Vinicius deserved Ballon d'Or, prefers 'honest' Globe Soccer Awards  Cristiano Ronaldo said on Friday, December 27, that Vinicius Junior deserved this year's Ballon d'Or, adding that galas "always do the same thing", and that is why he preferred the "honest" Globe Soccer Awards.  Vinicius finished second in voting behind Spain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri to miss out on the prestigious award.  Ronaldo was honored as the best Middle East-based player, and also received a custom-made trophy as the top goal scorer of all time. 00:24fighting against against them in a good way.

00:28They are our motivation, to be honest.

00:30I like to be compared with them.

00:35The pace, the shootings, even the shape, the body shape.

00:40They continue to working hard, but they are not better shaped than me.

00:46And it's a pleasure, to be honest.

00:48Now, I was joking, but I really love the way they do their career.

00:53Bellingham, Lamine now, this young generation, Vinicius,

00:57that they do a fantastic job.

01:00And in my opinion, they deserve to win the Golden Ball.

01:03It was unfair, in my opinion, I say here in front of everybody.

01:11They give to Rodrigo.

01:13He deserves to, but I think they should give to Vinicius

01:16because he won the Champions League, the winner, they scored in a final goal.

01:21The other issues for me is not important.

01:24When you deserve, you should give who deserves.

01:26But, you know, these guys, they always do the same, the same thing.
