00:00It's been a long haul, it's been nine days we've had the fire burning for and a lot of
00:07uncertainty and a lot of change in wind direction, which means that you're sort of having to
00:13be on your guard and having to keep an eye on the emergency warnings, the apps, making
00:17sure you're up to date to know where the fire's at, to know what's happening and making sure
00:22that you're listening to advice of what the emergency people are putting out.
00:27It's very important for people to stay safe and I think that's what the focus is at the
00:31moment and just making sure that they've got a fire plan, that they're up to date, that
00:37they know what's happening.
00:38We're sort of estimating that the Grampians is losing 1.9 million daily for businesses.
00:46A lot of businesses have been affected.
00:48This would have been one of our busiest times leading up to Christmas and Christmas and
00:53going into New Year's Eve, quite busy, so a lot of businesses have been affected and
00:59we're really hoping that state and federal can give some emergency relief to businesses.
01:07I know that Dan Tehan and Webster have been working quite closely and trying to advocate
01:15and they've sort of kept us up to date, so we know that there are people out there advocating,
01:20but we really do want to know what state and federal government are going to do, what type
01:25of packages they may be able to assist us with, because it's really important for the
01:30businesses to know, to plan, and they need to know that they've got some support, because
01:36last year and then this year, they've been through really tough times and we really need
01:41to have to support our businesses and I'm hoping six months down the track, when things
01:47are cleared up, that people that put us on the bucket list, the Grampians is a beautiful
01:52place and we have a lot to offer, so we're really hoping that people will come and visit
01:57the Grampians once all this is settled.
