00:00Merry Christmas from the Bureau with your National Weather Forecast for tomorrow.
00:04So that's Tuesday the 24th of December and I'll also be touching on the Christmas Day forecast as well.
00:10But we'll start off by taking a look at tomorrow's weather map.
00:14So here we've got a low pressure system that's moving away from the mainland
00:18but still bringing a bit of a brisk southwesterly flow in some showers to the far southeast.
00:23Then this high pressure system extending a stabilising ridge along the east coast
00:28while out in the west this trough bringing some isolated showers and storms
00:32and potential dry lightning and a few showers to the coast
00:36and across the tropical north those typical showers and storms.
00:40But let's take a closer look at Queensland.
00:43It's going to be a generally dry and sunny day across the majority of the state
00:48although partly cloudy with isolated showers and the risk of storms north of Cairns
00:53and also very isolated showers about the coastal fringe elsewhere.
00:58For Brisbane a sunny day top of 32 degrees.
01:02Down in New South Wales also a generally dry and sunny day across the majority
01:07apart from a few showers about the far southeast and also about the northern coastal fringe
01:12and adjacent land areas.
01:14For Sydney a sunny day and a top of 24 degrees
01:17nudging near a 30 as we head into the western suburbs.
01:21For Canberra a sunny day and 27 degrees.
01:25Down in Victoria there'll be morning cloud on and south of the ranges
01:29with isolated showers most likely in the east, warm, hot and dry in the north.
01:35For Melbourne a shower or two most likely about the eastern or the southeastern suburbs
01:41clearing during the day a top of 22 degrees.
01:45Down in Tasmania we've got showers about the west but generally dry elsewhere
01:50daytime temperatures near average for Hobart a partly cloudy day and a top of 21 degrees.
01:57Up in South Australia there'll be a bit of cloud around in the morning at first
02:02in the far southeast but that will clear during the day
02:05otherwise generally fine and dry.
02:07For Adelaide cloud clearing a top of 29 degrees.
02:12Now over in WA here we've got this trough line that will bring some instability
02:17with showers and storms and potential dry lightning
02:20and also a bit of a trough bringing some showers about the far southwest.
02:24For Perth a sunny day and a top of 31 degrees.
02:28Heading up for the tropical north we've got the typical humid weather
02:33and those showers and storms generally during the afternoon and the evening
02:38south of that trough line, very hot, dry and sunny conditions.
02:43Now taking a sneak peek of the Christmas Day forecast
02:46it's going to be a generally dry and sunny day across the majority
02:50with just some isolated showers about the central and north coast of Queensland
02:55with isolated storms about the interior just adjacent to that.
03:00Out in the west as well some storms through the WA interior
03:04and also about the southwest coast bringing windy conditions and showers there.
03:09But otherwise we've got sunny conditions for Brisbane a top of 30 degrees,
03:13sunny for Sydney 26, mostly sunny for Melbourne and 30,
03:18down in Hobart partly cloudy 23 degrees.
03:21For Adelaide a hot day 37 and over in Perth a cool but windy and dry day
03:27a top of 24 degrees.
