00:00America's mid-range capability or Typhoon Missile System is one of the weapons that the country plans to buy.

00:06According to the Philippine Army, this is a big help for their territorial defense.

00:16The Philippine Army confirmed that the America's Mid-Range Capability or Typhoon Missile System is still in the Philippines.

00:23This is April this year in the country.

00:25It was used for various purposes.

00:28It can destroy Standard Missile 6 and Tomahawk Land Attack Missile up to 2,000 kilometers or more.

00:36According to Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy Galido,

00:40it continues to be used for various purposes.

00:45Galido also said that this is one of the MRCs that the Philippines plans to buy.

00:49He believes that this will strengthen the capability of the army in helping territorial defense and protection

00:57in the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines, the Philippine Navy and the Philippine Air Force.

01:04It is planned to be acquired because we see its feasibility and its functionality in our concept in the comprehensive archipelagic defense implementation.

01:18China previously prioritized the maintenance of the America's Missile System in the Philippines.

01:23But the National Security Council, including Defense Secretary Gibutio Doro,

01:28said that no country can dictate for our own defense, which is what the army prioritized.

01:35The interest of our country is to protect our interests.

01:39So we should not be bothered by the others' seemingly insecurities

01:46because we don't have any plans to go outside of our country's interests

01:50that I believe is very clearly stated by the government's position.

01:56Meanwhile, the establishment of a safer and more united country under the National Security Strategy 2024

02:05was approved by President Ferdinand Anamarcus Jr. in a meeting in Malacanang last week.

02:12It was also attended by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Special Assistant to President Antonio Lagdameo Jr.

02:18and National Security Advisor Eduardo Año.

02:21Under the National Security Strategy, the National Security Policy 2023 to 2028 of the Marcos Jr. Administration

02:31in accordance with Executive Order No. 37,

02:34the National Security Strategy has 53 strategic directions and almost 400 steps

02:42for the protection of the sovereignty of the Philippines,

02:45for the prosperity of every Filipino,

02:47and for the establishment of peace and unity.

02:51It is included in four key areas,

02:54including the most effective use of the instruments of diplomacy and defense

02:59and for the promotion of prosperity through economic resilience and legislative support.

03:05In the presence of the President, he also gave importance to the formation of the NSS

03:10and he hopes that this document

03:13will serve as a guide for the Philippines to face new challenges

03:17while ensuring that every Filipino will benefit from it.
