00:00Aside from being visually appealing and more durable, the Banco Central ng Pilipinas says
00:06the new polymer banknotes have so much more to offer in terms of its added features and
00:11actual function, even for the visually impaired.

00:20The Banco Central ng Pilipinas or BSP unveiled the new polymer banknotes featuring the country's
00:27rich biodiversity replacing the faces of national heroes.
00:32Abisayan spotted deer can be seen in the new P500 bill.
00:37The 100 polymer banknotes has the Palawan Peacock Pheasant design while Abisayan Leopard
00:43Cat can be found in the P50 bill.
00:54She also underscores that shifting from paper to polymer banknote is a wise and smart move
01:01because even if it's more expensive to produce, the polymer money will last longer three times
01:07compared to the paper banknotes.
01:10The polymer banknotes are still being reproduced in Australia, but the Central Bank is now
01:16studying how to produce the polymer bills.
01:33One of the best features of the new P500, P150 is the tactile dots.
01:41This will help guide the visually impaired or blind individuals to identify the amount.
01:47The P500 has four dots on the top, three dots for P100 and two dots for P50.
01:54P1,000 has the same feature since it was released.
02:11The new polymer money, 70 to 90 million pieces per denomination, starts December 23.
