00:00Let's take a look at what happened during the Seal of Good Local Governance 2024.
00:06If you're curious, let's watch this.
00:09The Department of the Interior and Local Government
00:13recognized local government units throughout the Philippines
00:17through the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance for 2024.
00:24This year, a record-breaking 714 LGUs received an award
00:31showing their dedication, transparency, accountability, and good governance.
00:38Among the awards, 41 provincial governments, 96 city governments,
00:45and 577 municipal governments received the award.
00:50One of the cities that received the award this year
00:54was officially received by City Mayor Seth Frederick P. Jaloshos.
00:59We are happy that in the entire Region 9,
01:02only two component cities were able to receive this kind of recognition
01:09coming from DILG.
01:10We are not just here to be compliant,
01:13but we are here to achieve more and also to make history.
01:16DILG Secretary John B. Cremuya
01:20expressed his appreciation for the awards
01:22and emphasized the importance of good governance
01:26in the unity of the community and development.
01:30He also outlined the streamlining of assessment criteria
01:34to focus on fiscal management, innovation, and disaster resiliency.
01:39In order to use the Seal of Good Local Governance,
01:42an LGU must pass the seven observations.
01:47Good management of the funds, preparedness for emergencies,
01:51providing services for the economy,
01:54prosperity, equality of education,
01:57peace and order, and conservation of the environment.
02:01Among the LGUs that were named,
02:04the City of Dasmariñas, Quezon City,
02:07Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and many others.
02:11In the coming years,
02:13we expect more success and better services
02:18from all local government units.
02:20This recognition is an inspiration and guidance
02:24for local governments to strive and serve faithfully
02:29and diligently for their goals.
