00:00A 30-minute interval stop-and-go scheme for the vehicles was carried out by the Philippine National Police and Land Transportation Office,

00:09the Camarinesur.

00:10This is to reduce the amount of heavy traffic.

00:13The details are reported by Chris Novello of Radyo Pilipinas, Naga.

00:19It's like before, the travel was easy.

00:22Now, it's Christmas, and it's like this.

00:25Kuya Ruben is one of the only affected by the heavy traffic in the Anday Highway

00:29in the cities of Sipocot, Ragay, and Lupi in Camarinesur.

00:33The trip to Metro Manila to Bicol and back will take almost 24 hours,

00:38while the two-day trip to Visayas will take almost two days.

00:42This is because of the roads that are being built,

00:44which are accompanied by the slowly eroding of the land in the city of Lupi.

00:48It's really a disaster, because it's just a one-lane road in Lupi,

00:53which is being built by the slow-eroding of the land.

00:56And to solve the heavy traffic,

00:58the 30-minute stop-and-go scheme is now being implemented

01:02by the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 5 and the Land Transportation Office

01:06for the vehicles going and leaving Camarinesur.

01:09The authorities are appealing to the motorists to follow and be disciplined.

01:15If all the motorists will just follow the 30-minute stop and 30-minute go,

01:21if they will just follow the system, we won't have a problem there.

01:25But we are having a problem there.

01:27There are motorists who are appealing to other motorists

01:33that even if they haven't terminated yet, they are still going in.

01:37While the target of the Department of Public Works and Highways, or DPWH,

01:42is for the Anaya Highway to be divided into two lanes in Barangay Cabotagan in the city of Lupi

01:46by installing steel sheet piles and backfilling in the area.

01:50The agencies of the authorities are also helping

01:53so that they won't be affected by the traffic.
