What would you like to see Sheffield Council add to the household kerbside recycling collections in Sheffield?
Transcript
00:00What would you like Sheffield Council to start recycling that they don't already?
00:04Probably things like polystyrene food containers that you get from take-aways.
00:09They go in a bin and I'm sure there could be a better use for them going into the normal recycling bin.
00:17Could you tell me what you'd like to see Sheffield Council start recycling that they don't at the moment?
00:23Yeah, mostly take-away containers and things. Stop it getting thrown all over the floor and the kerbside.
00:29Is that a big need do you think?
00:31Yeah, I think a lot of people eat out these days and it's one of the biggest things you see in the landfills.
00:39Is there anything that you think Sheffield Council should be recycling that they don't at the moment?
00:44I think to stop recycling, to make it even better, is if things weren't coming in packages
00:54or if we had another means that we could take our own packaging to put the things in that we collect, that would be better.
01:06Is there anything that you'd like to see Sheffield Council recycle in their kerbside collections that they don't already?
01:14Foodstuffs, food items which are just dumped all over.
01:19Like you find that at night when people are doing partying around, they just throw food all over.
01:28So there should be a rule that they should be put in certain places.
01:35Like you see there is a movement in London which was very good.
01:41Coffee, you see this coffee, there is some bean which you put inside.
01:46So if the council could establish some of the areas where we can push them inside, that would be great.
01:56Tell me if there's anything that you'd like Sheffield Council to start recycling kerbside that they don't already?
02:01Yeah, when my daughter lives in Wales and they've started doing nappy recycling and special boxes for that, things like that.
02:09Whereas in Sheffield they don't do it, they just throw it in the refuse bin and that's it.
