00:00Authorities captured a housemate who was helped by his agent in Paranaque.

00:07He was the one who initiated the operation of the agents behind the online scam.

00:12John Consulta was on the scene.

00:14This woman was caught red-handed when the NBI agents reached their rescue operation in this house in an exclusive subdivision in Paranaque.

00:34It's a lot of work.

00:36You're not alone.

00:38Hands up!

00:40In the last three days, this Chinese national was caught online.

00:44The house was haunted by a scammer who was seen by a housemate.

00:48But what he learned, the housemate said,

00:51he was helped by a chair inside the house.

00:54When I went up there, I saw that's how they work.

00:58When I found out that they were not allowing me to go up or go out because I might tell a story outside,

01:05they were not allowing me to clean the third floor.

01:07I was scared.

01:09It started in November.

01:11He was not allowed to go outside.

01:13All his activities were restricted.

01:15Even when he used his cell phone, he was not allowed to use it properly.

01:18But when the Chinese were caught,

01:20the housemate, who was called by a friend,

01:24asked for help from the NBI.

01:26In the scripts that were displayed on foreign computers,

01:29various online scams were seen that they are doing this Christmas.

01:34There is an indication that they are victims of Filipinos.

01:38We saw written scripts which indicates social engineering schemes.

01:44We saw cryptocurrency investment scripts.

01:49We saw activity involving money mulling.

01:53We also saw romance scam scripts.

01:57They came from a big POGO organization.

02:01And because our president stopped POGO,

02:08they divided into smaller groups and continued their activities.

02:13Seven Chinese nationals were arrested and facing numerous complaints.

02:17They were not allowed to go outside.

02:19The NBI will help his two children to return to Davao,

02:23the housemates who were caught.

02:25We filed at least four charges.

02:29There is AFASA, Housemate Law,

02:32Republic Act 1175,

02:35and Expanded Anti-Trafficking In Persons Act.

02:38If someone recruits you as a housemate,

02:41you can immediately go to the barangay where you will work.

02:47Report to the barangay that you will join the barangay as a housemate

02:51so you can be easily helped no matter what happens.
