00:00HS2 is an absolute mega project. Costing billions for the UK taxpayer, it's been particularly
00:08controversial given the designation that it's an England and Wales project.
00:14Simply put, that means that England and Wales are paying for it and Scotland and Northern
00:18Ireland are getting money for it. HS2 though only runs through England with no points particularly
00:23close to Wales, so politicians and plenty of people within the country think that's
00:27unfair and believe Wales deserves fair funding for the project.
00:33First Minister Eluned Morgan has been put in a difficult situation with the plans, saying
00:37she believes that Wales deserves that funding, but the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has
00:42so far refused to budge. Morgan has said that she hasn't stopped asking Starmer for the
00:47funding and speaking to BBC Breakfast, she said Starmer is sick of her asking for the
00:51funding. It's a difficult situation to navigate and one that doesn't seem likely to change
00:56in the near future.
