00:00Porthcawl RFC has been here at South Lord since 1880. We have over 16 age-grade teams,
00:14over 300 million junior players, two senior adult teams, a women's and a youth team.
00:19For me, Porthcawl RFC is a special rugby club. Why? It has the heartbeat of the community
00:26within the rugby club. What we've said this year after training is that we want to give
00:30something to each team to make sure that the children are well looked after and that goes
00:35from undersettings right through to our senior men's teams, that everyone has a hearty, home-cooked
00:39meal. Volunteers for this club within Porthcawl is the absolute heartbeat of the club. We
00:50have recognised sponsors' days and recognised volunteers' days. It gives us as a club a
00:55chance to give something back. It's just a token of appreciation more than anything
00:59where we invite our volunteers who put the hard grass in, in the cold, wet, windy weather
01:05every week, in the coaching, the training. We all do it for the love of the game. We're
01:09very honoured to be nominated for the award. I just think that's down to a lot of hard
01:14work people have put in behind the scenes within this community club. Our message has
01:18been that we want to be the best we can be on and off the field and how we achieve that
01:22is through our volunteers and through the support of them, helping drive the club forward.
