00:00Good afternoon from the Weather Forecasting Center.

00:03This is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.

00:09Earlier this afternoon, the last thing we saw was the low-pressure area

00:12that we are monitoring inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility

00:17at a distance of 225 kilometers east-southeast of Tagum City in Davao del Norte.

00:23At the moment, the low-pressure area has a moderate chance

00:27of becoming a typhoon in the next few days.

00:30So for the next 24 hours, the chance of it becoming a typhoon is low,

00:33but the possibility is increasing.

00:35That's why we will continue to monitor the next updates

00:38for the aforementioned bad weather.

00:41At the moment, this low-pressure area is inside the Intertropical Convergence Zone

00:46or ITCZ, which is currently affecting a large part of Mindanao.

00:52That's why the whole of Mindanao, as well as the central and eastern sections of Visayas

00:57are affected by the LPA and ITCZ.

01:00That's why we expect a high chance of clouds and heavy rains,

01:05floods, and landslides.

01:07Meanwhile, the Shirline, or the hot and cold winds

01:12in the northern part of the Southern Luzon,

01:15the eastern section of the Southern Luzon,

01:17we also expect a high chance of rain.

01:19Also here in the eastern section of the Northern and Central Luzon,

01:23the Northeast Monsoon, or Hanging Amihan, is affected.

01:26Here in Metro Manila, and in a large part of our country,

01:30the weather will continue to be clear until tomorrow,

01:33but tonight, until tomorrow morning,

01:36the chances of sudden and quick rains

01:40followed by localized thunderstorms are still possible.

01:43And for our forecast for tomorrow in the area of Luzon,

01:49because of the effect of the Shirline,

01:51we still expect scattered rains and thunderstorms

01:54in the Bicol region and in the province of Quezon.

01:58We also expect heavy rains and floods tomorrow

02:01in the Amihan area, in Cagayan Valley,
