00:00I nominated Andrew Maunder for his immense efforts with Old Ultidian RSC as a volunteer.
00:10I've never seen anything like it, if I'm honest. Andrew's been a captain and administrator
00:14for Old Ultidian RSC for over 20 years, player, and now he's our club treasurer, and a myriad
00:20of other things. But seven, eight years ago, we didn't have any mini or junior section
00:26at all. And from a standing start, Andrew, unbelievably, in seven, eight years, has managed
00:32to get pretty much all the age groups up and running. I'll give an example of his efforts
00:37as a volunteer. He's a full-time accountant with Lloyds Bank, so he's managed to find
00:42time to go into schools on his own, speaking to the teachers in schools and saying, look,
00:47can I do a bit of coaching with the youngsters, boys and girls rugby? And that's how it started.
00:52It's just grown exponentially, really, in terms of what you see today. We've now got
00:56under sevens, eights, nines, tens, etc, etc, etc, all down to Andrew Maunder. Pulling together
01:03volunteers, mums and dads, coaches, engaging them in everything the club requires. The
01:09club wouldn't run without them. But today, I'm just looking around today, I'm amazed
01:12myself as chair of the club today, everyone here who's an adult is volunteering, and we've
01:17got young people volunteering as well. That's all down to Andrew's efforts. It really is.
01:23As you say, from a standing start, I don't think anyone's ever done that. From zero in
01:27eight years to have all age groups, it's pretty unbelievable work for a volunteer, isn't it?
01:32Diolch Andrew.
