00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized the great contribution of the Filipino film

00:05in the preservation of the country's art and culture

00:09through a concert held in Palacio

00:13where it was attended by famous and talented artists.

00:18This is Clayzel Pardilla of PTV with the national news.

00:30The concert was full of idol stars and the audience watched the great night.

00:44In the 5th edition of the concert in Palacio,

00:48the most famous and big stars were present on television and they sang.

00:55For the Filipino film, the theme was the pre-holiday celebration.

01:05gave a great contribution of the Filipino film industry

01:10that is a part of our art and culture.

01:13The event was held in the 50th edition of the Met Show Manila Film Festival

01:19as a support for the 10 films that will be shown in the cinemas on Christmas.

01:26In 2020, there was no traditional MFF entry in the cinemas because of the pandemic.

01:34That's why it's important to support and bring back the old passion of the films.

01:40We appreciate this great help, especially for the Filipino films.

01:45Whatever help you give, we will appreciate it.

01:48It's a great thing that we know that there's support from the government,

01:52especially from our President.

01:53It's my first time here and I'm just really happy that they really support the Filipino cinema.

01:59Aside from the taquilla, not only the Filipino films are giving joy,

02:04but also the work and livelihood from the writers, directors, and workers in front and behind the camera.

02:12It's really important that we give honor and importance to our film industry

02:19because it gives a livelihood to our fellow Filipinos.

02:24And this gives opportunities for our fellow Filipinos and the rest of the world

02:28to discover the beauty of our country and the talent of the Filipino people.

02:32It proves once and for all that this is one administration that does not just merely give lip service.

02:38It's not merely a set of promises.

02:40It's not merely reaching out to the Philippine film industry

02:43when there is something needed from the people of the industry.

02:47Here, we see a deliberate, concentrated, and concerted effort of the administration

02:54to really help the film industry which is in dire need of the support of the government.

02:59At the same time, it gave an opportunity to get to know the Filipino singers,

03:04performers, and other artists who performed at the Palacio concert.

03:10It was initiated by the Office of the President together with Radio-Television Malacanang.
