00:00Ghost Tours started in around 2018. It actually started as a charity fundraising event so it
00:07started off very small and we had no idea it was going to become a full-blown business so I just
00:11I love the paranormal and I've kind of grown up with it and I thought it would be really
00:16interesting to do a ghost tour as part of a fundraising event and then my business partner
00:22Kara came into the shop where I was doing the fundraising and it was spooky in itself because
00:28she just happened to come in the day I was working and never once has anyone asked me a question
00:33like this but she came in and said does anyone here do a ghost tour I'm thinking of starting one
00:39she's done this full-time for years and years and we decided to join forces join our experiences
00:45together and make a full business and since it's been a sellout every every month which is amazing
00:50we're really lucky so I think what's really unique about a ghost tour at Christmas is you're getting
00:56a really fun night that is a bit different and also you can still do your Christmas pub
01:01afterwards we get a lot of people coming to the tour who already had their Christmas pub experience
01:06but the great thing about the Morpeth Ghost Tours is you've got history you've also got
01:10entertainment so you've got a bit of comedy in there and because we're all trained magicians
01:14you've got magic tricks and shows so it's a full-on show for like kids and adults as well
01:20because we integrate like with each show we do like Halloween Christmas
01:26Valentine's New Year's whichever we always incorporate a bit of a Christmassy theme
01:29so there's even a couple of stories in Morpeth Christmas stories that are actually quite spooky
01:34it's actually quite festive people are always say they're really surprised by what they didn't know
01:40about Morpeth which is fab I mean we've got one building which is 13th century and there was a
01:45famous battle there and the building actually burnt down and was rebuilt it's one of the most
01:50haunted buildings in Morpeth because that building it's been in the chronicle twice
01:55because two people on our tours have taken photos of this building and really weird
01:59apparitions like unexplainable things have cropped up from it but we also took about the
02:04clock tower as well and the hangings that are happening right where we're standing as well
02:09so we actually finished the tour in Carlisle Park which is quite a surprise for the tour goers
02:13because they're wondering why are we in this lovely quaint park but there's actually a really
02:18disturbing story there we've got our Facebook page which is Morpeth Ghost Walks and we also
02:23have my business partner Cara's website which has all of our shows in that and her website is
02:29called carahamilton.com I'm feeling very very Christmassy this year but I always do to be honest
02:35and it's going to sound cheesy but the best way to get into the Christmas spirit is to do something
02:39a bit entertaining or a bit different like going to like a light trail or you know if you go on
02:46the tour for example like we do like pyromancy which is fire magic and that's always oddly
02:52festive even though it's a bit it's a lot but that's the best way to get into Christmas spirit
02:57to do something mad
