00:00We're no strangers to it. We work with a lot of people who've lost their homes because
00:07the landlord has used a section 21 eviction notice to get rid of them basically within two months
00:15and sometimes that could be because the landlord wants to sell up. Sometimes they're
00:24looking to turn their property into like an Airbnb which is seen as more lucrative
00:30I should probably point out that you know there are legitimate reasons for landlords to use
00:36section 21 evictions so this isn't porch light going against section 21s but we are going against
00:45the misuse of section 21 evictions which we do see. We're in a housing crisis at the moment
00:53one of the issues around this is that if someone gets evicted from their home the cost of rent
00:59is so high that it's really difficult for them to move somewhere else and obviously there's a
01:03there's a lot of competition for places as well and I'm speaking now more in the long term but
01:12the only way we're going to get around this is for the government to build more social housing
01:16and I know it's spoken about building more housing and that's great and
01:21we just need them to commit to that to stay on that
