A man who 'thought he was going to die' after using the 'King Kong' of weight loss injections is warning others of the dangers.
Georgie Aldous, 26, is calling on online pharmacies to employ stricter checks when issuing prescriptions for weight-loss drugs - despite losing three-and-a-half stone.
Georgie, from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, said his concerns followed his own experience of buying Mounjaro over the internet.
It was announced earlier this month that the drug - which is also known as Tirzepatide - will soon be available on the NHS in England.
The beauty influencer has struggled in the past with binge-eating and "yo-yoing" between diets but decided to try the medication in March this year.

00:00I've seen a fair few videos recently about
00:02weight loss injections and the risks and people that have been dying from them.
00:07And if you don't know already, I obviously had a very bad experience on
00:11Manjaro. This is what happened to me, this may not necessarily happen to you if
00:15you're thinking of going on it. Do I recommend it?
00:18Absolutely not. I definitely have problems with my eating, with binge
00:21eating and the view I have on food. I looked into
00:25these injections and I chose Manjaro because it was stronger.
00:29I was approved for my first dose which is 2.5 milligrams.
00:32That was £188.99. Ridiculous. Started taking that and did it work?
00:39Yeah, it did work. I was like not hungry at all. I'm not coming for people that
00:44need to go on it medically or if you are diabetic and you need to go on a
00:47semaglutide injection. But I wasn't diabetic and I didn't medically need it
00:51but I was still able to buy it and that's what I think is not right.
00:543rd of May, 7.5 milligram pen, £228.99.
01:02This is when I started feeling frail. So I wasn't eating a lot of food and for
01:05people with eating disorders it's so easily accessible it's scary.
01:09For the 7.5 milligram it was £228.99, for the dose above that it was £195.
01:16Why? Why is that? It's just marketing, it's disgusting
01:22that the prices can fluctuate for something like that. I lost £50
01:26in those four or five months I was on it, £50.
01:30And the majority of it was muscle, I had to stop working out.
01:33I had friends that went to workout classes with me after all this happened
01:36and I was just so weak, I was shaking. I have never experienced something like
01:39this in my life. It was a regular recurrence where I was
01:42just so completely drained of everything, and it's
01:45probably a mixture of the not eating, a mixture of the injection, you know.
01:49This is something that is physically regulating your blood sugar levels
01:52for someone that is supposed to be diabetic. I was having
01:56tachycardia, which is basically where your heart rate is so high it won't go
01:59down on its own, and I was having palpitations, heart
02:02palpitations. I think that was the most scary
02:05experience I have ever been through since losing my mum.
02:08I really, really did think I was going to die because I did play with my
02:12heart and the way that my heart was beating was just
02:15insane, I've never experienced that. I can't believe how this year has gone for
02:19me, and the fact that I was so unhappy with
02:22myself and how I looked that I went on an injection like that, and I spent all
02:26of that money, and I didn't listen to anyone who warned
02:29me about it, and I really should have, and this is me telling you and warning you
02:32that it is not worth the risk of leaving your family behind. Like I honestly
02:37thought I was going to die but to think the fact that I paid almost
02:39over £1,000 to have this experience, this is absolutely insane.
02:43Nothing is worth your health, and nothing,
02:46the beauty standards, how you feel, how you look, nothing is that serious that
02:50you need to spend this much money to do something that cannot happen to you
02:53like this. This is a message to these companies that provide Mam Jaro to
02:57people, is that I think it's
03:01immoral that you are happy to take money from these people
03:05without any kind of checks on them apart from a little form.
