00:00Some 20 Christian orphans under Yayasan Keluarga Malaysia, led by former Prime Minister Ismail

00:12He said the initiative was part of YKM's commitment to ensure that the orphans, who

00:16have lost loved ones, will be able to celebrate the festivities.

00:20He said this after a visit to a widow, Tina Bong, in Kuching Sarawak, who was the sole

00:25breadwinner for her two kids and in-laws after her husband died from COVID-19 in 2021.

00:32Ismail said he had given a donation to Bong and her family to ensure that they can celebrate

00:37Christmas.

00:38During his visit to another widow, Reema Nurai Shahidah Sarbini, who makes RM700 a month

00:43as a babysitter, Ismail said her children would be included in YKM's aid recipients

00:48starting next year after observing her financial struggles.

00:52Separately, Ismail said YKM's Bantuan Kasya initiative has supported 977 recipients since

00:592022, providing RM2,000 to children under 16 and RM2,500 to those over 16 annually.

01:07He added that YKM has allocated up to RM5 million this year for educational aid and

01:12support for disaster-affected families, with expectations of increased aid following the

01:16vetting of 890 new applications.
