00:00here's what fabulous secret powers would look like if they were done by filmation
00:03here's a look at Metallic He-Man and the Master Universe cartoon collection Prince
00:07Adam and Cringer
00:31it's an exciting time to be a Master Universe fan for longtime fans and for a new
00:35generation of kids who love the action adventure
00:37it's time to experience the thrilling action and adventure of He-Man's Skeletor
00:41the secrets of Castle Grayskull and much more the figures in this collection
00:45stand 5.5 inches tall and have 16 movable joints
00:48so they're highly poseable for imaginative and action-oriented fun
00:51Adam's not really one for action but He-Man certainly is. How about just before we get a
00:55closer look at the cartoon collection Prince
00:57Adam we're gonna grab the tape measure we're gonna see how tall the figure stands
01:00and then we'll bring in other examples of Prince Adam we've gotten from Mattel
01:03doing that all kind of working backwards let's grab the tape measure first
01:07let's go right to the very top of Prince Adam's head and he's gonna be standing
01:11at about six
01:11inches in height which is on average what you're normally getting with the
01:14cartoon collection figures
01:15that translates though then to a figure that's about 15 and a half centimeters
01:19tall
01:19Cringer's a different thing altogether, a different kind of cats if you will
01:23you could really get him in any configuration that you want, he's not as
01:26stactioned necessarily as the original battle cat we got from Mattel way back
01:29in the eighties
01:30there's a lot more posability. Now based on the way I've got him right now on all four
01:33four legs
01:34he's gonna be only about three and three quarters of an inch
01:37or roughly about 10 centimeters tall. Excuse me Cringer I'm just gonna slide you
01:42over just a little bit we're gonna bring in the cartoon collection He-Man
01:45now obviously with this there's a lot of similar molds that have been used here
01:48it looks like the arms, obviously the chest, underneath obviously the tunic
01:52that he's wearing
01:53but there's again a lot of very similar features. He-Man though should be 10 as he is in the
01:57cartoon
01:57I feel like Prince Adam should be a little bit fairer skin
02:01than what they've actually done here in the figure but we'll talk more about that
02:03in a moment
02:04let's bring in other examples, now I've never really brought this guy I think in
02:08other than the time I've just had a look at him this was the Prince Adam from the
02:11Maddie Collector days came in clue with
02:13with Orko. A good looking figure for the time I mean it's gonna sort of show its
02:17age a little bit now. Here's also as well with the Origins version of
02:21Prince Adam
02:22somewhat ironic though is about the tunic
02:24the tunic seems to have changed colors every single time there's been a new figure
02:27release of him
02:28of course granted the original Prince Adam would have all had the tunic in fabric
02:31don't have the original Prince Adam for that. Then also here for a Battle Cat
02:35I'm just gonna move He-Man over just a little bit here sliding over Cringer
02:38and I stripped down the armor here for the the Origins version of
02:42of Battle Cat. Obviously we don't have yet a cartoon collection version of
02:46Battle Cat
02:47but you gotta believe though that if we already have a He-Man we already have a
02:50Prince Adam
02:51and now we have a Cringer. Battle Cat I'm sure is somewhere down the timeline
02:55hopefully sooner rather than later. Of course what kind of reviewer would I be if I
02:58didn't bring
02:58also the other cartoon collection figures we've also got before? The answer is
03:02a crappy reviewer. One thing though I would want to bring to your attention again
03:06is that they're using the female Bucks from the Origins line
03:09and I still feel like the scale is way off. They need to retool a brand new body
03:13I feel for the build for the cartoon collection figures
03:15because like Teal in the cartoon really only goes to about maybe that high on
03:19Prince Adam. She's way too short
03:20I feel like that's one thing that's been the stumbling point for the cartoon
03:23collection
03:24Here's also as well what he looks like with Duncan or Man-at-Arms and we've also had a look
03:27at Stratos
03:28Some of the upcoming reviews as well we're going to be adding on to the Masters
03:31stay tuned for that. So what took so long getting around reviewing this two pack?
03:35Just the delay in the site that I ordered this from. I had
03:38pre-ordered this way back in June 2024 then
03:41that pre-order then quickly turned to I think August, waited around in August
03:45then that August pre-order turned then to September then turned to October
03:50then turned to December and without a fail every single time I went back to
03:53that site
03:54and the pre-order kept changing dates. Eventually it said it was going to be
03:57dropping in January 2025
03:59well by then everybody has already had a look at this figure through other
04:03reviewers
04:04and obviously I finally had to get around to ordering this through different means
04:07so I canceled it from the site that I ordered it from and I went the route of
04:10eBay instead. I don't think I paid all that much more than what I was initially
04:13going to be paying through that one site
04:15but I understand how that site had back ordered and continued to back order
04:19month after month after month. That's my story.
04:23Feel free to share it with others. Having a look though at the accessories that come
04:26in clue with both Prince Adam and Cringer
04:28both come in clue with swappable heads. Before we swap any heads
04:31maybe perhaps we'll look at his power sword. Now if you are looking at this power
04:35sword it isn't really all that much different from the power sword we got
04:37from He-Man
04:38other than perhaps the sheen. You can see though that He-Man's is a much
04:41shinier version of that silver while Prince Adam's is a little bit more of a
04:45matte finish.
04:45There is also these notable scratches that were all over my He-Man's
04:49and it may have maybe something to do with the fact that I kept holstering this on the back of his
04:52body
04:52because of course He-Man does have a sheath. But there are these scratches, these
04:56imperfections to the metal. I feel like I would end up probably switching this and
05:00having this be the one that's displayed with He-Man.
05:01This is going to be the one that will be displayed with Prince Adam but though
05:04honestly this is the one that came in clue with this figure
05:07this is the one that came in clue with He-Man. It's just right over there. Mold wise it
05:10seems to be exactly the same other than just again like the sheen of the silver
05:14plastic.
05:14Obviously it can't fit into his hand. He only has one gripping hand
05:18so obviously that's kind of rules out right away which hand you're going to be
05:21displaying this with.
05:22Just simply take the sword handle. You may have to bend the hand just a
05:26bend the fingers I should say just a little bit. You can get that in his
05:29classic looking pose.
05:31Now you can have that held aloft his magic sword. It becomes of course He-Man.
05:35Cringer's not probably going to be liking what's going to be happening next but it
05:38poses really well.
05:40I think I'd likely going to be displaying Prince Adam like this. Cringer cowering
05:44in the background.
05:45Shaking away. Probably going to be displaying him that way. There's no place obviously to
05:49store it on the back like in the cartoon he would have had this
05:51stored behind his tunic. I mean nobody's noticing the fact he's got a big giant...
05:54How does he even sit down? But the sword... You know what? We're not going to be
05:58nickel-and-diming the reality of all this. Obviously he gets his powers from a
06:01giant skull castle.
06:02But if He-Man is holstering this in the back like this how is he ever going to be
06:06sitting?
06:07I'm going to leave that idea with you. It's similar to Wonder Woman in the movie
06:10and that dress that seems to just hold the sword. How she holds the sword
06:15I have no idea. Anyways though there is no place you obviously can't store that
06:19behind his tunic. But yeah at least there is a storage place at least in
06:24his hands.
06:24Now the figure does also have a regular relaxed hand. You can use that for
06:28example if you want to be him petting Cringer.
06:30Good boy. Good boy Cringer. Sort of buttering up early in advance because he
06:34knows he can be turning him into Battle Cat at some point in that episode. From a
06:38head sculpt standpoint it isn't all that much different. I'm just going to go
06:41ahead and grab the cartoon collection He-Man we already had a look at. It seems
06:45to be like the defaulted head is pretty much the exact same one to He-Man.
06:48Let me just offer up my own personal opinions of this at least.
06:52I feel like the coloring on Prince Adam is still way too dark. The whole thing
06:56about masking his identity. Obviously he's doing a poor job. His hair looks
07:00exactly the same. His build of body is also matching that of the same. But I think
07:04one thing about He-Man though is he was notably more tanner in the cartoons.
07:08Prince Adam was a much more fairer skin. I mean there's not really much
07:12difference really between the two. It's not until you start swapping around the
07:15head that you notice that there's a difference of tan. In fact, taking that
07:19idea, I just pop the head off the ball joint. By the way I don't really like the
07:23way that snaps off the ball joint. We're gonna take off He-Man's head. There we go.
07:26And we're gonna put it on Prince Adam. Now you may have not noticed much of a
07:30difference. I didn't notice much of a difference either until I popped He-Man's
07:33head onto Prince Adam. And you can see there is a different color of tan. His
07:36face is a little bit darker, but it's really not that much darker. I feel like
07:40I probably would have made the plastic color of his skin a lot
07:44lighter than what we're actually getting here.
07:46Hair is sculpted also the exact same way as well. I mean like we talk about, we joke
07:51about the fact that Superman does a poor job of masking his identity. He's
07:54literally just wearing glasses. I think He-Man has him beat. He's pretty much
07:58just the exact same character other than just the fact he's wearing himself a
08:01white shirt and a tunic. Popping that back onto He-Man so we don't lose his
08:05head. There we go. He does also have an alternate head portrait as well, which
08:09is that of him with the smiling or laughing face. Now we are also getting,
08:14I'm sure it's already out right now, the faker version of He-Man, which is
08:17basically essentially this He-Man. And that's gonna have the glowing eyes
08:20because Faker was never blue in the original Filmation cartoon. He was
08:23basically just a carbon copy of He-Man. So we're gonna be looking at that figure
08:26in an upcoming review. This one though again does have the smiling face. Rotate
08:31it all the way around. There you go. The hair isn't that much different from one
08:34another. Obviously that now has the closed eyes, a big smile across his face.
08:37And again, if you want to see what that looks like, once again, pop it off the
08:40ball joint. Pop the new head onto the ball joint. There we go. And that's what
08:45basically it's gonna look like. I mean, it's good if you want to have it
08:47obviously displayed with Cringer, like just the two are jovially hanging
08:51out in the castle grounds. I mean, that's fine and good. But again, for me, I
08:55would rather just have Prince Adam displayed with this defaulted head
08:57sculpt instead. For the rest of his body though, not really much does get changed
09:03from He-Man. I mean, if you're looking at the torso, it looks to be the same.
09:05Possibly I would say as well the arms and even really like the bracelets are
09:09also there as well. Just that they've painted this in white. The original He-Man
09:12would have had that in more of a gold color. The lower half of his body is one
09:16thing that's very different, although the boots look to be the exact same. Legs, I
09:18shouldn't say that. Legs are the same. I mean, if you were to really like lift up
09:22the loincloth or lift up this to expose the loincloth, you'd essentially be
09:26getting all of He-Man's body underneath. Obviously this one has the sheath on the
09:30back to store the sword. There's no place to store the sword other than just
09:34the fact he has to sit awkwardly in chairs all the time. Right away, that would
09:37tell you that this man's He-Man. For the articulation on this guy, it's gonna be
09:41exactly the same as the other He-Man figures and Master's figures for that
09:44matter. The head's gonna rotate all the way around. Head looks up, about that far.
09:48Head looks down, only about that far. Really blame a lot of that on the hair.
09:52It's gonna really prevent a lot of movement back and forth. Well, more back
09:55and forth, maybe not as much up and down. There's only just a straight standard
09:59waist swivel. The arms do rotate all the way around. Even though, really, the
10:02tunic takes up some of the real estate space for the shoulders, at least the
10:05plastic is soft enough that you can easily still rotate the arms all the way
10:08around. You can also bring the arms out. There's a swivel there in the elbow.
10:12Single bend in the elbow and the handles rotate all the way around. Legs split out.
10:17Again, you've got the ball joints in there. Everybody look! Everybody look!
10:21Ball joints there. Legs move forward. Yeah. Legs move back. Okay. There's a bend at the knee.
10:25I will say, though, with Prince Adam, knees are really tight on my figure.
10:30This knee is not so bad. I've already, you know, loosened that up a little bit, but
10:33this knee is giving me still problems. I don't want to bend it too much in case
10:35that it snaps, and then I go, and I run up the stairs. Actually, I'm reviewing
10:41downstairs, so that would be realistic. I could run upstairs sobbing. Anyways, the
10:45boots do swivel back and forth. There's an ankle pivot, of course. There's an
10:48ankle rocker there, as well. And, of course, there's peggles and bottoms of his feet.
10:51Covered pretty much the territory of He-Man. It's just literally a new coat
10:54of paint, and, of course, the new tunic. The tunic is, of course, very cartoon
10:58accurate. The colors, really, for Prince Adam, very, again, cartoon accurate. Other
11:02than, again, I just feel like the skin color for Prince Adam, especially looking
11:05at He-Man. He-Man either, then, needed to be a lot darker of a tan. I think his
11:08color is close, but I think, then, Prince Adam should have been a lot fairer skinned.
11:12Fairest in the land. Also, then, moving on to Cringer. Cringer comes in an alternate
11:17head sculpt, but before we actually do that, I want to show you guys what the
11:20standard head looks like when you get this guy in the packaging. Closed mouth,
11:23big smile on his face, little tusk tooth sticking up there, a thwell. Of course,
11:27he's got all the stripes across his body there, as well. Just to think this was an
11:31original Big Jim Tiger, and just because they had no more tooling cost to be able
11:35to produce a new vehicle, they end up just using a Big Jim Tiger. Obviously,
11:39they're using a brand new body here for Cringer. I don't know if they could use
11:42this body, again, for Panther. Panther was really never one he may have been, but I
11:47think most of the time when I think of Panther, he tends to be the little kitty
11:49that sits alongside Skeletor's throne. Perhaps they may be able to use this body
11:53for Panther, the little sitting kitty variety. It's gonna curl up next to
11:56Skeletor's chair. Body-wise, though, again, it's decently sculpted, to the fact, as
12:02well, that they even sculpted the pads on the palms of his feet. Now, again, there's
12:05this head sculpt, or if you want to, there's also more of the cowering
12:08Cringer. He knows what's gonna happen. The thing that's cool about this head
12:12sculpt, unlike the one that we've already had a look at, is that this one does have
12:15posability. There's a hinge underneath, and it allows the mouth to open and
12:18close. I don't know. Actually, that kind of sounds like Goliath from Davy and
12:23Goliath. I don't know, Davy. Eyes look good on this guy. I mean, look at the paint on
12:27both of the heads. It's really nicely done. If you want to change out the head,
12:30it's a lot easier on this one than it was on Prince Adam. Just pop the head off
12:34the ball joint. Pop, then, the new head in place. I want to make sure, of course,
12:37you're lining up everything, as well. What's interesting, though, about
12:40Cringer's head is it's much more of a softer plastic. The rest of his body...
12:44Hello? Who's there? ...is more of the harder... I feel like this is kind of more
12:48hollow plastic for the main body, here. But the face, though, is notably a lot
12:52softer of a plastic. You can probably even see, by the way, I'm bending his ears.
12:55But paint, overall, yeah, looks good on this. Stripes on the side, stripes on the
12:58top. Again, very cowering-looking face for the new Cringer head. The body, as well,
13:03does have some posability, too. I mean, you probably can already see for yourself
13:05how much posability this guy possesses. The head's gonna be on a ball joint, so,
13:11yes, it does move up. It moves down, of course, and you can also rock it back and
13:15forth. It doesn't matter, though, whether using this head or you go back to the B
13:18lining, back to this original cat head. The ball joint's gonna, obviously, work
13:22the exact same way. The figure does also have a ball joint or hinge joint at the
13:26base of the neck. So, it moves down, it moves up, and you can also rock it back
13:30and forth, as well. Then, about holding this like you're gonna be breaking off a
13:33lobster tail, you'll basically be able to wiggle this back and forth. So, this
13:37section onward is attached by a ball joint. So, it allows the top back or the
13:42hind section of the body of the cat to move up and down. You can also
13:46rock it back and forth there, as well, and I guess you could technically twist it,
13:49too, like you're gonna be ripping off a lot. Can we just stop talking about
13:51lobster tails, please? Thank you. The producer's just shaking his head.
13:56Tail rotates all the way around. He could be a happy cat. He could be a sad cat. He
14:01could be a cat that looks like he's gonna spray on something. The legs
14:05themselves actually hinge outward, which is actually one of the things that the
14:08original Battle Cat couldn't do, and I'm not talking about the original Big Jim
14:10repaint Battle Cat, but this Battle Cat, you really couldn't move too much in the
14:14way of his legs. Sure, you can move him forward. Sure, you can move him back, and
14:17there is, again, that section joint right here where you can bend the mid foot, but
14:20that's about all you could really do with the original Origins. Pardon my arm.
14:23This Battle Cat, or Cringer, just before he turns into that, does actually have
14:28hinging in his shoulders. Of course, he does have the same knuckle joint there. I
14:31guess that wouldn't necessarily be a knuckle joint. That's an elbow joint that
14:34allows the arm to forward bend, back bend. You can also rotate it as well. Each of
14:39the individual feet, this, and then basically times that by four, does
14:44the exact same thing. So, like, the actual feet themselves move back and forth
14:47this way, and you can also rock them back and forth this way as well. Take that
14:51idea and times it by four. So, like, the back legs do the exact same thing. The
14:55one thing, though, that the back legs do benefit from is, yes, it does have this.
14:59Yes, it does have this. It has this the same way as it works from the front,
15:03although it's just gonna be working the opposite way. So, instead of it bending
15:05forward, it's gonna be bending backwards. But one thing it also does benefit to is
15:10it does have two additional ball joints here. Well, the one for the foot was
15:14already one here, but it does also have this section where you can also bend
15:16this too. So, I shouldn't really say it's times four. It's times two, and then in
15:21the back legs, those are times two, because they have the exact same
15:24functionality. So, if you wanted to, you can also get Cringer in more of a
15:27seating pose. Again, we just kind of... how does a cat sit? I mean, I have I have cats,
15:32and yet I seem to forget quickly how a cat sits. But basically, you know, again, if
15:35you want to have the cat Cringer kind of sitting down, he could be then looking up
15:39at Prince Adam, and then Adam's like, I know what's gonna happen. I'm about to
15:44turn you into Battle Cat. Again, like, what's so interesting about this, though,
15:47is that we have ourselves a Cringer long before we have a Battle Cat. You would
15:51think, really, that it would be the opposite way around, that Mattel would
15:54have long before already released a Battle Cat, and yet sort of now we're
15:57waiting for it. Give it time. I'm sure we're probably gonna be getting
16:00ourselves quite a very cool-looking Battle Cat, probably even as a... probably
16:04Mattel creations. I don't know if that's something that could be selling in
16:06stores, or if maybe they do sell it in stores, they're probably gonna then beef
16:10it up by adding some additional accessories. Maybe episode things that we
16:13reference, or things that we spot in one of the cartoon episodes. I don't think
16:16that they're going to probably be packing in, like, an Orko. That's gonna be
16:20a little bit too big, considering already that Battle Cat's probably gonna be
16:22like, what about that big? But yeah, I really like the look of this one. Sorry
16:26again, everybody. I'm really sorry again. It took so long to getting around of
16:29reviewing this guy. I had such high hopes that I was gonna be looking at
16:32both Adam and Cringer way back in, like, June-July. And of course, like, every
16:36single month, every time I clicked back to the site, it just kept saying, now it's
16:40gonna be back ordered, and it's gonna be released in... I want to say it was, like,
16:43July. Then it was August. I feel like it was every month. August, September, October.
16:48You can follow along for the rest of the calendar. November. Then when it got to
16:52December, I said, okay, no, December is the time that this thing's gonna finally
16:54drop, and this thing's finally gonna get shipped to my doorstep. But then it got
16:58postponed to January 2025, and I said, you know what? Forget about this. I'm
17:01gonna go the route the other ways. I'm just gonna go instead and go to eBay.
17:04Yeah, maybe I probably paid a little bit more, but not all that much. I mean, this
17:08set's been sitting around for a while. Other people have already gotten their
17:10hands and reviewed this guy way long time ago. So to pick this one up now over
17:15on eBay, I want to say, like, I paid probably, like, I want to say, like, $45,
17:19maybe $50. It wasn't all that bad of a price, considering already that I have
17:23all the rest of the Cartoon Collection figures, at least of the Masters.
17:26Bring in He-Man. I say that already. I know we're gonna be looking at Ram Man.
17:30Oh, no, I just gave it away. I just gave it away. We're gonna be looking at Ram Man
17:33this week. Yeah, so Ram Man's gonna be coming your way also as well. But, I mean,
17:37for what we've gotten so far the Cartoon Collection, I couldn't pass the chance in
17:40finally getting Prince Adam. I know, again, I'm a little behind getting him, but he
17:44was well worth the wait. Let's get all the rest of the characters here. It was
17:47well, well worth the wait that we finally have ourselves a Prince Adam, and we have
17:50a pretty cool Cringer to go along with him. Oh, oh, we know where this is going.
17:54To be fair, though, what I've got going on here in Final Looks doesn't 100% jive
17:58with the transformation that we see in the cartoon. Cringer really isn't cowering
18:01until Prince Adam has fully become He-Man, and he points the Power Sword in
18:05his direction. Speaking, though, of the Power Sword being pointed in the right
18:08direction, one thing, though, I didn't mention this review is that Prince Adam
18:10does actually have a swivel in his hand that swivels the opposite way. So if he's
18:14gonna hold aloft his magic sword, he can actually hold it aloft accurately to the
18:19way it looks in the cartoon. Speaking of comic accuracy, for the most part, Prince
18:22Adam does it, except for maybe for the coloring of his skin tone. He feels like
18:26he needs to be fairer than what we're actually getting here presented by
18:28Mattel, but all the color, all the rest of the colors do match the way that they
18:32look in any of the episodes, just before he turns into He-Man. Battle Cat, or
18:35Cringer for that matter, is just obviously a precursor to what we will
18:39eventually get with the Battle Cat. Battle Cat will be, like in the cartoon, a
18:42lot bigger than Cringer here, but if this kind of gives us an idea of what we will
18:46be getting with a Battle Cat, I'm super excited for one. He does have a lot more
18:49posability than the origins Battle Cat could even say, though he doesn't have
18:53the armor yet. One thing I do really like about Cringer is that he has two
18:56swappable heads, similar to Prince Adam. You can go with the look of just the
19:00snaggletooth closed mouth, or if you prefer instead, you can have the mouth
19:03with a full hinge in the jaw, like I've got here in the final looks of the wrap
19:07up this review. The figure does have some decent coloring all in the stripes. Not
19:11any point do I look at Cringer and I feel like there's paint that's been
19:14improperly placed. Everything done on Cringer looks just as good as it was
19:18done for Prince Adam. What do you guys think of this set? Let me know down below
19:22in the comments section. Yes, I know I'm a little behind on reviewing this guy.
19:25Truth honestly told, I wanted to have a look at this set way back in like the
19:28early beginnings of the summer, but again I just had to wait a little longer, then
19:32I had to wait, then I had to wait, then I just said forget about it, and I went the
19:35different route of ordering from eBay. And think again, I bought the set for
19:39maybe about $50, and I've seen since then several of the sets show up at toy
19:43conventions, where on average they usually sell about $50 to $60. So if
19:47you're looking to get your hands on this set, and you had to maybe wait as
19:50long as I have, to get one now, I don't think it's gonna cost you all that much.
19:54But let me know down below in the comments section when you got this set,
19:57and if you have enjoyed displaying it. And how do you display Prince Adam? With
20:01a smiling face or the neutral expression? Also if you guys did enjoy this video, do
20:05it a solid, throw it a like. Yeah, yeah. If you guys want to stick around for more so,
20:08I hope so. We are wrapping up things right now for Battle Cat, well not yet
20:12Battle Cat, Cringer and Prince Adam, but there are gonna be some more Master
20:15Universe cartoon collection figures coming your way for the rest of this
20:18week. So make sure you're coming back regularly. Yes. As always, thanks for
20:22watching. See you guys next time.
