00:00Ho, ho, ho, Merry TV Mass. Hi there, I'm TV writer Matt Mon-Hickson and I've just been looking through
00:08the Radio Times Christmas Guide for 2024 and wow, what a stacked lineup we have ahead of us this
00:15festive season. The BBC in particular is really going guns blazing this year, it's really quite
00:22impressive and no wonder that the others are running a bit scared on Christmas Day because
00:27BBC has The Tiddler on Christmas Day which is the latest Julia Donaldson animated adaptation,
00:33so if you've got kids you know they love those and they're really, really good. This one's about
00:39a fish, a storytelling fish, so yeah, that's one to look forward to. We've also got Wallace and
00:46Gromit Vengeance Most Foul which is the second feature-length movie from Wallace and Gromit,
00:51so Aardman are back. It's the first Wallace and Gromit special in since I think the mid-2010s so
00:58it's been quite a long time so this is really anticipated. This is a full-length movie, it's
01:03about 70 minutes long so it's ever so slightly shorter than The Curse of the Were-Rabbit but
01:08still, it's a proper movie. It's on at 5.30 on Christmas Day so make sure you've got that in
01:14your calendar. And then of course we've got Gavin and Stacey's Christmas Special, it's the final
01:21episode ever. It's not set at Christmas but it's going to wrap up the story of Gavin and Stacey
01:30and Nessa and Smithy once and for all. It's five years after the last one and which ended with
01:38Nessa proposing to Smithy, getting down on one knee and that was a cliffhanger, we weren't sure
01:42whether that was ever going to be resolved. It is but this is the last episode, they've said it's
01:48the final, this is it, no more after this Christmas Special. There's also Call the Midwife
01:54of course on BBC on Christmas Day. It's actually a two-parter this year so instead of it being
02:00one feature-length episode it's two episodes across Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
02:08There's also A Mrs Brown's Boys at 11 o'clock on Christmas Day so if you've had too many bellies
02:13perhaps you'll wake up in the middle of that. You're not dreaming, it is a Christmas, a new
02:17Christmas Special for Mrs Brown Boys. There's also a bit before Christmas, the 20 seconds of
02:23the Sunday before Christmas, there's the Death in Paradise Christmas Special which will see the new
02:28detective enter paradise to replace Ralph Little who left at the season earlier this year. There's
02:35Doctor Who on Christmas Day that sees the Doctor team up with his Barbie co-star Nicola Coughlan
02:42and that is Joined to the World that episode's called. It features a hotel and time travel
02:48shenanigans and all your classic Doctor Who Christmas fun. There's The Sorbs obviously
02:56on iPlayer at the moment, you can watch CBeebies Panto. I watched the screener for it, it's definitely
03:01for children. If you're not watching it with kids it's not for you but yeah kids will love it.
03:07There's the final season of Vero will start on the 1st of January and there's two episodes,
03:15so I'd like to start with there's two episodes, one on the 1st of January and one on the 2nd of January
03:19so that's a nice way to start the year. The Traitors is back on January the 1st as well.
03:25SAS Rogue Heroes is back on in early 2025 as well, I think that's on New Year's
03:33Day they've said. Sophie Ellis-Bexler's doing a New Year's Eve special so there really is,
03:38there's a lot going on this Christmas and New Year and the festive period on the telly so
03:43yeah whatever you want to watch I'm sure there's something there for you.
