00:00I want to join the House in paying tribute to the emergency services, including Mid and West Wales
00:10Fire and Rescue Service, Dyfed Powys Police and Powys County Council in my own constituency,
00:15who have been working tirelessly to keep people safe over the past few days. Communities across
00:21Wales and in my own constituency of Bracken, Radnor and Cwm Tawi have been battered by this
00:26storm only a few weeks after already taking significant damage from storm Bert. Many of
00:32my constituents in the Swansea valley were left without power for over 48 hours and some might
00:38not have power restored until Thursday. Likewise, many water supplies have been disrupted and towns
00:45such as Bilth Wells have experienced significant flooding. Can the Minister tell me what support
00:51the UK Government is providing to Wales to ensure that power is restored as soon as possible to
00:56these households? I thank the hon. Member for his question. I also pay
01:04sympathy to those constituents of his who are still directly affected.
01:08Our priority is that we are still trying to make sure that everyone without power
01:13is being reconnected as quickly as possible. Our colleagues in the Department for Energy,
01:18Security and Net Zero have been receiving regular updates from the Energy Network
01:24Association with regards to electricity outwards. Work is being done swiftly to
01:31make sure that those who are directly affected get their power as soon as possible.
